Facilities are are good but shoddy customer care from the employees at my local....as you can prob tell, I dont go there anymore......
nice one just for the use of the pool
Shouldn't this be in the freebies section? My voucher from the Times from a couple of weeks back say's the deal expires on 30th June.

Our local one is closing down!!

Not really suprised considering I was quoted over £150 per month Family Membership for myself, the mrs and my 2yr old daughter. Plus, no chance of cancelling within the year.
Member already... but leaving as just so expensive - £52 for off peak, asked if they could reduce this as only use it during work lunch but of course there is nothing they can do... so still leaving.
Is the closing of branches an indication they are in trouble??

Good Deal though...

Free 7 Day Gym Pass @ Esporta

7
Always useful these. No obligation 7 day trial for the gym, sauna and swimming pool in a fairly decent health club.

How much is a membership roughly at these places?

Around £80 - £200 a month. Depends on which one you subscribe to, and what deal is going on at the time.

Best free trial experience to date! So wish I could afford it, but not at the moment. Now free trialling on this one at Fitness First: http://www.fitnessfirst.co.uk/Campaign/Campaign-Form.aspx?fdCampaignId=654

Wonder how many gyms I can free trial at this year without actually having to commit or even pay!
Found and used a 3 day pass in January. Used everything I wanted to sauna, jacuzzi, pool, steam room, equipment, classes, the lot.
This should be hot as this is 14 days free not 1 like the other post
great find will take a look

A word of warning....make sure you understand your contractual obligations around membership and membership cancellation before you commit to joining this firm. They are/were renowned for tying members in to long term memberships and their underhand tactics for applying long term cancellation periods for members wanting to leave made the BBC watchdog programme a few years back if I recall.

I am currently a member, i think its a year for the first year then 3 months after. Long time!

They'll spam you with marketing after to persuade you to join. These places always do.

I recently did a free week trial at the Glasgow club. Told them on day 1 that I was unemployed and have had no marketing from them whatsoever from that day to this

I think this free 14 day pass will be much better than 1 day Link here
i went for a visit for the children in the bristol branch to try the musical theatre lesson on sunday followed by a swim....we ended up having sunday lunch there which was terrible and bland...the potatoes were aunt bessies or similar and where left in the oven longer then they should have which left a burnt after taste, the gravy was thin and watery like a dressing...£7.95 a head buffet style (so no waiter and had to request them to wipe the table..reminded me of mcdonalds) was not cheap and cheerful....i fed this back to the manager who basically took a potato and came back saying he thought it was fine and so did his chef ....and that was that and then saw them refill with even more dark brown potatoes!!! the pool like what previous poster said was too cold for comfort and the spa pool was on but no bubbles. only thing good i can say was the staff who worked for the children were excellent and friendly as due to them telling me the the activities are free when i arrived it turned out not so and cost 4.40 and hour so she did not charge me. the membership guy just basically showed me the figures on a simple card and that was that...he does not mention 12 month contract or 3 month notice once...all he done was go out to sell but when i told him i was not making a decision yet due to a trial visit to david lloyd could tell he lost interest. he did not offer to tour building with me either...the next day i got a followup call from different guy...despite the food and cold pool i was 99% gonna go ahead due to the childrens activities they have but the last straw that put me off was the membership joining fee was quoted free to me when i was there but now i was told depend if the 'offer is still available' when asked when the promotion expired i was told 'i dont know' depends when you sign up!! the conversation was very patronizing and was not what i expect from some one trying to make a sale! it actually got me quite upset which cause me to ring head office to feed back my experience..despite speaking to them my impression was they really was not interested and stood by there collegues...the whole thing has left me wondering that they proberly take your money and there for locking you for the 12 months and anything your unhappy about will be tough after. so make sure you have all your facts before you join as lots of information i was given was false just to get you to sign ..so check and check again....its a shame but at least i still got my £912

Just be careful if you decide to become a member.

You sign up to a 12-month contract, which, even when the 12 months is up, still requires you to give them 3 months notice of cancellation :(

Extremely expensive club (for my area - South West), and only really focus on getting more money out of you through PT sessions

Yes, agreed, they are a complete nightmare to end your contract, it's taken me a year to be rid of them! They immediately passed my details on to debt collectors, who were very aggressive and unpleasant. Be very careful if you sign up, and be prepared to be tied into your membership for at least 15 months.

I was paying peak membership at 70 quid a month. Saying that it's a nice club and if you don't get any hassle to join, you will enjoy your freebie day! Have fun! xx

Its On The Website Aswell.
Urm, that actually terrifies me right now, but if you could bully me every so often to make sure I go, that would be great
Oh I see. I wouldn't mind helping you out with a programme or something, saves paying the PTs £30 an hour or whatever they charge!
Brentwood end of Upminster. Near Cranham golf course. I'm actually going to start using my gym membership though. Honest!
Tut tut lol. Where do you work that's only 2 mins from Clearview? It's in the middle of nowhere lol!

im a member there and i can tell you the one day pass in a con job.
you will be tortured with phone calls from the club.
what the thing to do is give a false contact number , miss a digit or two :)
other than that the pass is fine , full use of the club.
