Please note this is Gluten Free beer, which is much more expensive than normal beer. This is normally around £7/8, and is an excellent beer. Discovered it a few weeks ago after going more than two years without a beer as I'm gluten intolerant. Please don't vote cold because it's not cheap beer, it's not normal beer.

Estrella Damm Daura is brewed by the Estrella Damm brewery – the beer of Barcelona… Daura is a Gluten-free beer and is therefore coeliac-friendly. This means that coeliacs can now enjoy a fantastic gluten-free beer at an acceptable price… Estrella Damm Daura is a 5.4% mainstream pilsner lager with a universal flavour and character and winner of the 2008 and 2009 World Beer Awards in the category Gluten-free beers. The high quality of the beer is due to the fine selection of ingredients – ensuring that Daura has all the taste, but none of the gluten of a regular beer. The gluten amount is less than 6ppm. http://www.estrelladamm.es

Cold, not as cheap as Fosters ;)

drives me crazy when companies rely on "legal" definitions, only foods containing 0% gluten should be labelled gluten free..

true and probably if tested would contain about the same amount of gluten

Have some heat, I don't think bones can read.:)

I truly feel sorry for people who need gluten free beer. I appreciate it might cost more to produce but based on there overall profit and the numbers of people who will actually buy this. They should show more compassion and sell it for a loss...ideal world of course

Great stuff. Would rather people took coeliacs more seriously, but the gf faddists ruin it for us real sufferers. Thanks, op

it's not so bad now people realise there are medical conditions requiring this,
i remember my mother trying to explain coeliacs many years ago to be met with blanks stares and retorts of "Oh he's a fussy eater" :D

I disagree that the those 'faddists are ruining it for us real sufferers'. As the father of a coeliac for the past 18 years I have seen the amount of gf products grow considerably. If people want to treat gf as a lifestyle, as a lot do these days, then that can only be good for the Coeliacs amongst us as it encourages more gf products onto the market. What is annoying is when those real Coeliacs get treated as though they have chosen to be so. Perhaps this is what you meant and if so I wholeheartedly agree.

Can be labelled gluten free if less than 20 ppm of gluten. Higher levels will make coeliacs ill. Good price for GF beer - thanks for the post.

if you really like estrella then try this as its 5.4% which is the same strength as Spain and tastes identical. the normal stuff sold here is only 4.8%.

ummm really don't understand where you understood from my statement i was "unaware" of that fact, like you seem to be unaware of the fact even less than 20ppm can make some coeliacs (like myself) ill.

Cold....normal price in Asda is £4,95

Wife is wheat intolerant and I'm reliably informed its safe to drink Budweiser, as have many others. Whether you can if your a ceoliac will depend how senstivie you are.

I can drink beer but often find myself feeling very itchy for a few days afterwards. The itching is all over from the top of my ears to the tips of my toes and can be very intense and uncomfortable.

I find other foods can cause me these problems too. Doctor put me on some anti histamines and says I have some kind of alergy but hasn't been any more specific than that.

I don't really know much about coeliacs or whatever but do these kind of symptoms sound familiar to anyone? Would a beer like this benefit me at all?

It might be worth a go, wheat may be giving you these symptoms, but that doesn't sound like Coeliac disease. Budweiser or Corona are also a possibility, Budweiser is brewed with rice, and Corona contains a very small amount of gluten.

Cheers for that. I only like the Czech Budweiser would this be the same? I might try Amstel as I'm aware that's made from rice.
