EVGA Geforce GTX580 3GB Version - £90.00 @ etb-technologies

For some reason this is getting a lot of down votes. For £90 you will get a card that will give you better graphics than a PS4. For less than £100, it§s pretty good. Ive been looking at these for a…

GTX580 is similar power to a 7950 so in fairness to most you have just confirmed as your card 'does well on high', that for those on a budget this would do the job nicely

Personally I would get a 660 or try to find a good deal on a 670 via ebay at this price, its used so look for similar, try cex if a warranty is important to you

For £90 it has better graphics than a PS4
PC games look better in general, that doesn't make this a good deal.

Huh? Do you know what that means?
Claiming it gives better graphics than a ps4 is laughable. I highly doubt this thing would keep the same graphic quality as any current gen console on bf4 or gta 5.
Have you seen GTA V on the PC? Lol!
Fair point but i can't see this performing very well at 1080p for any modern game.
This is about 90% the performance of a GTX760, and I can tell you the 760 happily plugs away at 1080p on just about everything at the highest (or near) settings ( I say just about everything as there is a lot of games I don't play!). It has the pushing power and the VRAM to do very well at 1080p. I think you need to take a moment and realise how hyper-optimised modern consoles games are versus there PC counterparts. The very fact that makers can optimise for 2 machines and not the millions of potential spec levels of pc's means the current gen consoles will always be shown in the shiniest light available. I would take that info and go watch some PC footage of cross platform games.
All i am saying is that on multiplatform games bf3/bf4/metro redux. my hd 7950 does well at high but can't max them out. I can't see how a card under £100 is a worthwhile investment. I've been meaning to upgrade my gpu but there's not really any pc games coming out in the near future that i am interested in to warrant an upgrade.
I'm contemplating getting gta 5 again but i've already bought the game for 360 and x1 so don't really know if i want to buy the same game 3 times.

You could class DX12 as an upgrade, your 7950 will get it.

I think it'll handle GTA V fine at 1080p with adjusted settings.
