How many knives in that set? It would take you five minutes to choose the best one to cut a potato in half.

Looks like a reasonable deal - the spatulas and spoons are probably worth about a quid each, same for the measuring spoons.

I'm thinking how does all that fit in that box :-D

3 to 5 week delivery. Likely to get order canceled ?

You'd probably be hard pushed to find one that could cut a spud in half at that price :whistling:

Oh dear, I sound like those ones who knock the cheap mountain bikes and guitars. Apologies, H&R:-D

any one got one of these ?? - not sure the quality looks great - cheap can opener etc..... I kow it's only £12 but would like knives that dont bend under the slightest pressure and stay sharp etc... otherwise it;s just a waste - although only £12 !!!

I notice it's called 'Valu' range.....this 'student set' which is probably in the same vein has a comment worth reading. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ethos-Student-Starter-Kitchen-Colour/dp/B0012NW732/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1229950109&sr=1-16

This set is probably fine for the likes of a touring caravan etc where it's not likely to get that much use. But I'd say you'd 'get what you pay for'.

You only need 3 or 4 knives in the kitchen anyway - a small paring knife, a large chef's knife and maybe a breadknife and carving knife too. 41 is just pointless! Much better to spend £15 - £20 on one reasonable knife in the sales that will last a long time and withstand a lot of sharpening.

Sometimes I can't help but think some people completely miss the point of such sets. It's cheap and it's certainly not supposed to last a lifetime. What it will do is serve as a perfect stopgap for students/first time buyers and anybody else in need of a quick fix.

Will people please try and keep there comments within the context of the product.

Err, I think you just gave an opinion there. Isn't that just what everyone else is doing? You pretending to be a mod? First time buyers? It's a knife block not a house LOL!

This set has 41 pieces NOT 41 knifes. If you can't read at least look at the picture :p

You'd be better off holding the blade and cutting with the handle...
