Those prices look pretty good, and they are significantly better than BA in my opinion. Friendlier, and have more comfortable planes, better food and better entertainment.

Though I have only been on 2 BA flights so I guess some of their service may be better?
#2
Have not flown Eithad but have to say the last 3 flights have i done with BA have been poor as the planes have been very old and the inflight entertainment systems were ones left over from the 80's i think. I use to rate BA but not so anymore the fleet is old and not being refurbished particularly and the CS has been poor.

Will have to check out cost of flights from Thainland to Langkowi as that is where i plan to go

most of the western airlines (US, Oz, UK, Europe) are nothing short of ridiculously bad
you don't realise it until you take one of the eastern airlines

As compared to BA... one of the best in-flight service and experience I have ever had.....

Another dodgy deal like air malaysia latest £2 return. Etihads 72 hour sale travel outwards from today and return by the 14 june The availability of seats to Thailand for £442. is very hard to come by lots of seats £600 to £700. also for a joke they state you can only travel for 3days to 2 months. you try getting 2months between today and 14 june NOT a hot deal
#12
A lot of these airlines come across as being very good but apparently the fun starts when they lose your luggage and what they're like to deal with then.

Anyway, they come up at £5,500+ return to Melbourne in August which is about double Emirates.

you'll find that the dates mentioned are the dates you have to leave before, its not how long you can stay. So you could fly out on the 14th June and come back 14th August.

Probably the best Airline out there at present. Good Call on this one.

Wrong as far as I can see - it won't let you request dates with return travel after 14 June. All travel must be COMPLETE by 14 June 11.

Well Etihad aren't considered to be one of the few 5 star airlines. They are rated 4 star by Skytrax. The likes of Malaysian, Cathay Pacific and Singapore have been 5 star for years.

Then you obviously don't watch SkyNews, its all I keep seeing with their "sponsored by.." adverts!

Sol is 100% correct. The travel must be started before the 15th June. I am a travel agent and have this offer sitting on my desk right now.

Also, they need to be reclassified to a 5 star as far as im concerned, they are up there with the airlines already mentioned.

Paid £440 each for the misses and myself to go 10 weeks ago to Thailand with Etihad from Heathrow.
Booked it with Asda travel online so none of this booking fee - cc surcharge etc

For those who can find just the right flight this is a good deal, for those who can't it isn't so good. However there are alternative airlines, and with 7 flights a day to the middle east from Manchester with Emirates/Etihad/Qatar you should be able to find a flight to most destinations.

For all of you living north of Birmingham, please try to use Manchester whenever you can. I know the politicians would like everyone to use LHR and close the rest of the country down, but you don't have to go there, and don't listen to travel agents who tell you otherwise. Support Manchester Airport, and us swamp dwellers will get even more flights and good deals. Don't fly BA - crap company.

cheers op my parents are coming to visit from Phils. so this will save me bet. 400-500 pounds mega heat from me

Flew to Bangkok with Ethiad back in March and it only cost £445 return booked only a few weeks earlier, so this doesnt look like a stunning deal.

Good airline tho - pretty decent meals, lots of free drinks and good movies and games on the individual 'entertain system'.
#28
I don't think it is a sale. We flew to Oz with them last year and the flights are more expensive now. So how they can call it a sale is beyond me.

Have paid £1900 in the past for biz class to oz. The same flight now is £3800. Call that a sale???

agree with xzilebue. I dont see why this will be classed as five star. I have also flown with many other airlines and I think their service is horrible. Had to complain to cust services after my flight. The attendant I experienced was really rude. and Nobody even bothered replying to my email to customer services.

Jamiem 1976 I am afraid you are wrong etihad site states all travel must be completed by the 14th june I imputed a return date in July and weas informed that date is outside the promotional period

Well, in this case, you would be wise to get to your local agency as we have the same fares available but without the travel restrictions.

Do not even come close to the likes of Singapore Airlines or Air NZ. To even suggest putting them in the same class is laughable.

Oh and yes I have flown with them.

Not very good air line ........
Had a lot of problems with them last week......
My return flight was 5 hours late to Abu dahbi and 4 hours late to London Heathrow.
Avoid if you have family.....

I thought I'd be able to get 12 June to 12 Aug but it wasn't having it.

its a great airline in my opinion, always the cheapest and best service when i go to thailand - although flying non stop from KL to Stanstead with airasia was nice to not have to worry about the stopover in Aub Dabi - you can get arrested and locked up in prison for a couple of years in AB for having a bit of weed stuck to the sole of your shoe.

I've heard good reports about them and the stewardess are hot ;-)

How can they call it a sale? They aren't calling any flights to Oz a "sale". You are imagining things then moaning because they aren't true...

All airlines have delays - seems there are no good airlines on the planet then going on your logic. They are a new airline yet have already won a string of awards. They were the worlds leading airline in 2009 and 2010 and are in the running to win it this year (they just won the middle east regional award so have already beaten the likes of Emirates and Qatar airways).

Their rewards programme is decent (my flight to Sydney gave me enough points to get a free iPod), they are amongst the most comfortable planes I've been on, their AVOD system is world leading (again, award winning), the food was the best I've experienced (I get the vegetarian meals which are usually pretty disgusting on most airlines I've tried), free drinks, their custom built hub is airy, spacious and has good facilities along with everything else you'd expect from a decent airline. Plus a confusion caused by my travel agent was swiftly sorted out by Etihad ground staff - who I also found to be very friendly and helpful (ensuring I got an exit row seat on all legs free of charge as I am pretty tall) at all 3 airports (Heathrow, Abu Dhabi and Sydney).

Be aware that Abu Dhabi is part of the UAE so when stopping over you will also be able to get locked up if you're found in possession of many UK prescription medications such as anti depressants, tranqulisers and strong pain killers like codeine. Basically anything, prescribed or otherwise, that is in any way considered to be mind altering.

It's easy to think that they don't enforce it but they very much in fact do.

The UAE's banned substances policy.

Having flown extensively with all of those airlines (and having done over 20 return flights on Etihad), I can safely say they are up there with these two airlines quite easily.
