I can't see this on my account to enroll. Is there a link to where you can enroll?
If you 'click deal' does it not take you to a web page to enter your details to enrol? I know when other members have posted deals before, it used to let me?

That's my bad. I was clicking on the link in the first post!

GAP INSURANCE

This is my first post and hope that some people will benefit from this. Only relevant if you are getting or just got a new car. I picked up my new car this weekend and was offered a product called…

GAP is great on any car you just bought, well worth it. Bought my wife an £8,500 Corsa, Gap was £150, if the car gets written off then I lose nothing other than the £150. I used to sell this too lol, the dealer I worked for sold it for £249, regardless of the cost it's better than losing thousands when your insurer decides to give you sod all for your cherished car.

Voted hot, don't vote if you don't understand it. More people should be made aware of GAP insurance, virtually every person I spoke to when I sold a car had never heard of it, the vast majority bought a policy because they saw the value in it.

true it is an evil necessity, though imo the insurer should cover you for the loss on the car insurance policy anyway...
what next gap part 2 which covers your loss in case your insurance and gap dont cover the loss
Voted hot.

Just taken a Back to Invoice policy out with ala.co.uk. I picked up my VW Passat about 4 months ago and was shopping around for a quote. Due to the time I had owned the car, this was proving to be a bit of a problem and most companies wouldnt provide cover. I spoke to a very helpful guy and he told me that they could cover vehicles up to 12 months from date of purchase.

Policy cost just £128 for 3 years and £12500 worth of cover. Great value!

Used voucher code STA1052 to get an extra 5% DISCOUNT.

Thanks

W.
Shopped around myself for one of these...this looks a good deal. Also looks like they are not as fussy about when you bought the car, many stipulate 90/120 days.

The point about whether or not to buy GAP insurance is a personal choice. Voted hot.
I have just taken out RTI gap insurance on my new 58 plate Honda Civic Type R GT.

I used click4gap, and it cost £209 for 3 yrs cover.
My Honda dealer was quoting £349.

Also £22.50 quidco.

Normally, if you are the first registered keeper of your car from new, your car insurance SHOULD pay the full invoice price within the first 12 months. Check your t's & c's

The RTI has to be taken out with 90 days (i think) from the date of purchase.

Obviously i'm hoping i never have to use it, but if i do, then i wont be losing £££££
I did try this company before contacting ala.co.uk but they were actually more expensive even without the promotional code.

also don't forget to keep your European medical card with you (the new version of the old E111) because most Euro travel insurance won't cover any medical expenses which would've been covered if you'd had your medical card with you to claim them free...

I did not know this, but I do now Thank you:thumbsup:

Thanks for this, it seems quite a good deal as it's quite confusing, there are so many different insurers offering different deals. Having a big name could be good, and £15 is cheap :)

I don't suppose anyone has seen any good deals on business travel insurance have they? I need to take a laptop and the business insurance seems to be annual and about £100.
I did this with European Annual insurance which worked out £30 then £15 back through quidco. As my trips are only to Dublin, Spain etc this worked out best for me
