Hi all!! Been having a really good look for a good tent under £200, trying to get the other half into camping so needed something which was quite roomy. I will comment on the features individually.

Code for 10% discount bringing the price to £180 is: NEW10

Delivery is Free or next day delivery for £5.99 (courier is DPD and can track delivery nicely).

On with the Features!

-6 man tent

(Only 2 of us and a dog, but it's nice to be able to stand up in the tent to get dressed, eat dinners etc.)

-Tunnel style – large living space with 2x removable bedrooms and a built-on canopy.

(If there is only 2 of you, you can remove one of the bedrooms for more living space)

-Fully waterproof flysheet and taped seams – 3000mm hydrostatic head, with a classy embossed pattern.

(3000mm is okay, shouldn't get any leaks, though 4000mm tends to be the norm for more premium products)

-Waterproof, taped, sewn-in groundsheet - for complete protection from water and creepy crawlies.

(groundsheet is a must, keeps everything tidy, stops bugs getting in and can help to insulate the tent and stop the drafts getting in!)

-Stable design - colour coded fibreglass arcflex poles (12.7 and 16mm in diameter), 4x corner stake pegs and steel roundwire pegs.

-Adaptable bedrooms - easy to fit, with rollaway doors and dividers that can be removed for extra living space.

-Darkened bedrooms - prevent the early morning light from waking you up.

-6 large windows with roll-up curtains – for extra light and privacy when needed.

(nice amount of windows, nothing worse than staying in the outdoors and being able to see nothing but a green sheet in front of you!)

-Mesh doors and ventilation points – allow airflow right through the tent while preventing insects from creeping in.

-Storage pockets and organiser – for a tidy and organised tent.

(bit of storage in the living area and bedrooms, comes in handy)

-Electric hook up - zipped access point with Velcro tidies to run the cable to a ceiling lantern point.

(Helps to keep things tidy)

-2 king poles included - can be used to hold open the side door and convert it to an awning.

-Fire retardant – tested to the BS EN 5912 standard.

-Size: 595 x 360 x 210cm

-Packed size: 72 x 35 x 35cm

-Weight: 23kg

Overall I would say this was good value for money, only 2 reviews so far but both give it 5 stars.

RRP is obviously a bit of a joke, but I think for £180 you are getting a lot for your money.

Canopy at the front lets you store stuff with some protection from the weather as well. Or nice to sit outside with a bit of cover from the weather!

Off to the lakes with it on friday, I will let you know how it performs if anyone is interested! Just don't wish rain on me!! It's gonna be sunny I tell you :-)

Lastly, I have been scouring the internet for furniture for the tent and have bought a tent carpet suitable for the living space of this tent which is 2.5 x 3.5m (£22), also a LARGE folding kitchen unit (£58), 4ft folding table 150kg load (£25), 2 chairs (£10), Jerrycan-plastic (£5). I'll post them as deals and provide links for these if anyone is interested.

3 Days scouring the internet for good quality but cheap products, best I could find, hope it saves someone some time! Happy Camping :-)

Welcome to camping....if you're after a king size bed each you might be best sticking to hotels. As I said in my post this tent is just for me, my partner and our dog so we should be fine. As a general rule you should buy a tent at least +2 berths more than you will require to be comfortable.

I'm an avid camper my friend and my current tent while not fit kingsize will fit 4 queensize beds in it....

There's even a deal on it which I've just posted but it isn't anywhere near as cheap as this.

Each to their own, yours looks a lovely tent, but from my research similar airgo models were double the price of their carbon-fibre poled brothers. My other half is not sure about camping so needed to keep the cost down to get her into it...no chance of £1000 on one. And I like my space....the HiGear one you have, the living area seems to small for 8 IMO. AirGo are great to put up though, you'd be done before I got mine out of the bag :-(

My other half thought I was going nuts too mate, but just one night in and she was sold! The combination of footprint, tent and carpet makes a massive difference in room temperature and for myself at 6ft not having to bend all the time to move is a godsend. Living room area is about 3m x 3m and remember I have a porch that's slightly bigger than that too. It annoys me when tent manufacturers overstate berths, time it was regulated, I'd say the minimum pp should be 60cm width each as a measurement and dependant on storage regarding length too.

I never look at the number of berths anyway, I just look at the space and think is this enough for my needs and is the space well used (I hate sloping walls).

Haha, we had a crazy month or so, couldn't get any time off work and didn't want to put it up for just one night! So it is still in the box, raring to go next year, we have a baby on the way so will get loads of use in the next DECADE hopefully, lots of nice camping trips :)
