the psp essentials on UMD are going to be £9.99 i believe, so to have them at £6.99 on the store is a bargain!

i'll be getting patapon 2 as its the only 1 i dont have, but at this price it'd be worth replacing my UMDs with downloads!

sony THIS is the ideal price for older PSP games! get more on the store please!

No "Peggle" or "Smash Cars" reductions this week (as I was hoping for), but I may finally get around to buying "Soc Car" (Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battles Cars).

Assuming I won't be busy with "Joe Danger" (available for the first time this week "Joe Danger (£9.99/€12.99) Rating: PEGI 3").

BFN,

Tempted by James Pond.

Joe Danger looks great but will wait for the inevitable price drop in a few months on that one.

Hi,

Yes, I made reference to the cheaper prices at the top of this thread.

In the "Ten free games offer for PSP Go console" thread (comment #10) I mentioned they were £7.99 on Universal Media Disc (UMD) at HMV.com, so £6.99 in digital form isn't a great saving... but we can but hope this is the start of a revised pricing policy.

To be fair, titles published by Sony are generally well-matched to the physical items. It is the other (third party) publishers where there are substantially higher prices for the digitally-delivery variants.

Some (more popular) titles on the PlayStation Store have not have reductions at all since they were first listed.

Do you remember when similar titles used to cost £4.99 (or less)?

£9.99 does sound like a lot for a title (without a demo/trial version) though. If the entry price had been £5.99, maybe even £6.99, it would certainly attract a larger number of impulse buyers.

From the numerous press releases, inclusions on both the EU & US PlayStation Blog, video trailers on sites such as Joystiq.com &/or GameTrailers.com, and Hello Games' own site, the title does like a lot of fun though.

It will be in my virtual shopping cart later today (well, assuming it is available before the Network is offline between 4pm & 4:30am tomorrow).

Have you set-up the same PlayStation Network account details on all of your consoles & download once to each console, or have you downloaded to a memory stick that you pass around the PlayStation Portable devices?

Are you able to play concurrently whilst logged-in (either single player, or multi-player between more than one of your portable consoles), or have you never tried that scenario?

Yes, downloading to the PS3 first is probably the best option so you always have a "master" copy (if you have sufficient room to keep the downloads on the hard drive).

(Note that you cannot do this with the PSP Go (ten free) games offer, though. Is your PSP Go eligible?)

I received "Motorstorm: Arctic Edge" last Christmas & I still haven't removed the cellophane :(

Too many other good games to get through.

May see you online sometime (soon-ish) then :)

You're very welcome.

I found the game gave me motion sickness (kinetosis) after a while as there was not a central reference point on the screen to find the horizon again when you are driving up walls & across floors & goodness only knows where.

I had the same trouble with "Aliens vs. Predator" recently too! :)

When two of my kids find out this is reduced I'll expect there will be two more parties online with it, so you may be lucky & get at least one game going :)

Given the reduction in price today it may inspire some others to buy it so there will probably be an influx of players over the next week or so anyway.

I love LocoRoco Cocorrecho!, and at £1.19 it is a real steal. It may not be the longest or most involving experience out there, but what is there is beautifully designed and implemented.

I will probably splash out £1.59 on James Pond 2, and get the new FirstPlay episode for 99p, with Rocket (Aero) Racing

Joe Danger will be first in the cart though, it looks great

According to Mike Kebby, the update will be live before 'lunchtime', whenever that may be.......depends who you ask I guess. Personally I am starving hungry already :whistling:

i have a 320GB PS3 (originally the 60GB BC version) so plenty of space so far (i dont even delete demos! LOL)

i got my PSPgo whilst in florida gettng married last year! wanted it on launch day so had to get it there (for £150 when it was £250 in the UK!) its not covered by the new 10 free games promo, nor by the other promos they did as it wasnt a uk console. that didnt stop me trying & i ended up getting resistance, GT, syphon filter logans shadow & socom all for FREE! though they did cotton on to me with the free assasins creed offer! HEHEHE

i know what you mean with to many good games! though i'm sticking with red dead redemption at the minute

Nothing there for me this week.

I got Wakeboarding HD last week when it was on offer for £5.49 but still feel ripped off.

Wish they'd put some real stuff on offer. :(

Cheers Fanpages,

Think I will grab Loco roco as £1 seems a good deal, it is supposed to be glorified screensaver but seeing as it is cheaper than the dynamic themes.
Will probably grab Robocod as I seem to have fond memories of that, recently got Abe's Odessey. It looks & sounds great on my PSP although the controls are a bit tricky.
#18
I have James Pond 2 on disk already but for £1.59 it would be rude not to buy it. :)

I got WipEout Pulse at £2.99 used in my Stevenage game store last weekend. Guilty Gear Judgement was also £2.99.

Edit: It was pure I bought not Pulse. DOH

Thanks again for the heads up fanpages. I have added heat accordingly :)

Unfortunately there is nothing that tickles my fancy this week in the list of special offers. I would like 'Joe Danger' but at £9.99 it is a bit too expensive, especially with the lack of a demo.

Always preferred Exoddus to Oddesey so I'm gonna have to get it, really like the look of Joe Danger too. The PSN store is getting better and better, love it.

As Sony have illegally deprived me and many other users of the use of the PSN as we did not want to loose out linux partitions I have to vote this cold.

Shame on you $ONY See you in court.

I was peeved about that also mate. But when you consider the PS3 really didn't perform that well running Linux, it was no major loss for me. I have a spare old PC with very poor specs that runs Linux better than the PS3 ever did.

Some great games lowered to TRUE pocket money prices. Voted hot

Wish they'd put Trine on special offer. Been holding back, cos I know that with my luck, the day after I purchase it'll be on special offer!

I was reading a blog entry this morning suggesting that the real reason for the removal of "Other OS" was because Sony was under increasing pressure from the Motion Picture Association of America to stop the ability to copy Blu-ray Discs within the Linux installation.

Get SARPBC! (Super-sonic Acrobatic Rocket-powered Battle-cars) it's an amazing game!

I am so addicted to it (had it about a year now) the best value game ever!
There's a thriving community for it, (search google for their forums).

It takes a while to get used to but when you master it, it's seriously one of the best games i've played.
I play it more than MW2, and that's saying something :)
#29
Nothing good except LocoRoco this week, Numblast last week was amazing. I decided to get Joe Danger instead, it's fantastic. I was reticent because it's £9.99 though, it should have been £7.99 as you say.

Well, at least I can safely buy it in the knowledge it's unlikely to drop again.

I'm getting error messeges when trying to view the various games on special offer, so I reset my PS3, now bizarrely I'm getting this messege when trying to slect the Playstation Store:

This service is not available in your country/region.

Never had this messege before. Anyone else having problems!? :?

Probably residual problems from the system being down yesterday. It was a bit slow today when I was trying to buy. Check the playstation forums, if it's a widespread fault you can bet they'll be complaining there!

Maybe it will fall again soon, given this news...

Trine 2 revealed as part of Atlus E3 lineup (Joystiq.com)
---
by Griffin McElroy { Jun 10th 2010 at 1:18PM }

Atlus today distributed a list of titles it will showcase at the (extremely impending) Electronic Entertainment Expo next week. One of the names mentioned on the decidedly vague list of games is Trine 2, the follow-up to Frozenbyte's 2009 PC and PSN action-platformer -- and to think some folks assumed Atlus was just going to announce an XBLA version of the original game. How silly!

Also included in the publisher's E3 lineup is another unannounced title: Rock of Ages, which is being developed by Zeno Clash creator Ace Team. Additionally, localized versions of Etrian Odyssey 3: The Drowned City and the PSP port of Knights in the Nightmare will be at the show.

Yeah, they shoulda' made the price drop permanant, or better still, make it a sort of welcoming gift/game when you join PSN. It's a lovely game, very relaxing, completed it many times and it never gets old.

Trine 2, that is good news! I loved the demo, and would have bought a physical copy in a flash. Dunno if it's just me, but I put much less value on a game when I'm paying for a digital download, so I held back on purchasing.
#40
james pond is a buy for me i think, unless my brother has bought it as we just download from each others accounts.

nobody has mentioned section 8 for well under half price - that is a full disc game right? or is it not good or cheaper on disc?
