If you don't have PJ Monsters then this is a great price.
Must have got 20-30 hours out of that game.

Voted hot.

Indeed.

Although the original title & the "Encore Pack" for the PS3 are playable on a PSP console via "Remote Play", I was considering the downloadable "PixelJunk Monster Deluxe" title for my newly acquired PSPgo.

(Well, I say 'new'; it was pre-owned but qualified for the "Ten free games offer for PSP Go console" promotion. I received my redemption code this morning!)

The "Blue Toad Murder Files" items are also a good price.

I did think, however, that the free co-operative play-enabling downloadable content for "Red Dead Redemption", the "Outlaws To The End" pack was available on both PS3 & Xbox 360 platforms today.

It features six new multiplayer missions for 2-4 players, plus new Achievements and Trophies.

The modes (courtesy of Rockstar Games wording) are as follows:

"Walton's Gold"
Walton's Gang have taken control of a mining camp rich with gold. Fight through the camp and load your mine cart with as much gold as you can carry and get out as fast as you can - Walton's boys have rigged the place to blow.

"The River"
Ride a raft down river, taking out rebel encampments along the way until you reach the rebel stronghold of Nosalida and a final epic battle for the town's massive weapons caches. Watch out for Gatling gun-equipped enemy rafts.

"Ammunition"
The Mexican Army has the town of Tesoro Azul under siege. Storm the gates under heavy cannon, Gatling gun and sniper fire to destroy the Mexican artillery placements.

No mention of it in the Update blog entry though.

I would agree with Andy about PJM - it is great, and a bargain right now.

I have tried playing it via remote play, but can't say that I enjoyed the experience, as it seemed very laggy. I will be buying PJMD for the PSP though, as I really enjoyed the demo.

Also on my shopping list are:
Blue Toad Murder Files Ep1
LocoRoco Midnight Carnival Ultimate Edition (PSP)
and Onslaught Mode for BC2

Nice update this week :thumbsup:

I may grab blue toad at this price, but I haven't heard many good reviews about it and it is only part 1 so I guess the publishers are practically giving it away to get people hooked so they buy the others.
Don't really use Remote Play but I do have an old first generation psp.

I also download free content regardless of whether I have the game as I may get it in future and don't want to pay later, remember Dead Space (never did buy that suit).

PS. Blue toad ep 1 has 3 bronze, 2 silver and 2 gold trophies if anyone cares about such juvenile matters.
#5
Thanks for the heads up, unfortunately there is nothing here that I really care about.

I've heard good things about Pixeljunk Monsters, but the only Tower Defense game that I ever enjoyed was Crystal Defenders, so I think I'll let this one slide.

"Remote Play" is for all PSP models (with at least System Software revision 1.60 on the associated PS3 & System Software revision 3.10 on the PSP).

I downloaded the "Blue Toad Murder Files™ Episode 3" previously (on 25 February 2010) as it was free to do so until 25 March 2010 (& after asking on the PlayStation Blog if it would still be operational if I downloaded Episode 1 after that date [when the price dropped]).

So, yes, Episode 1 is on my list today too! :)

Have you tried "Savage Moon"?

Cheers FP but I didn't mean that. I have used remote play with my psp, it is just that I used it once and never felt the need again.
Dam I missed BT Ep 3 as a free download, not like me to not download freebies regardless if i want them or not.

Did you use "Remote Play" over the Internet or via a wireless router (or similar) on your own domestic Local Area Network? I find operation of the XrossMediaBar locally is 'laggy' but the gameplay is OK.

PS. I spotted the "LocoRoco Midnight Carnival Pack" as mentioned in the Official EU PlayStation Blog yesterday.

Not a series I have had much time for (although one of my kids loves it).

From the Blog entry:
Blog.EU.PlayStation.com

We are releasing three brand new levels via PlayStation Store. The Bui Bui Pack will be available from 23 June and costs € 2.99/£2.39.

Are you a fan of the earlier titles in the franchise, or are you buying from new with this release?

Yes, I have played LocoRoco 1 and 2 on my PSP, and also enjoyed LocoRoco Coccorecho (?!) on the PS3. I have tried the demo of Midnight Carnival, and am looking forward to playing the full game, with the new additional content.

I see you have beaten nearly all my JD scores again Fanpages! I'm still holding the 'Funkotron' top score though......;-)

Fancy sending me a level somethime, so that I can get the trophy? It doesn't even need to be interesting, if you are short of time, just a start and a finish line will do me (although a proper fp level would be fun, I am sure) :thumbsup:

Ah, sorry. Yes, it is a bit of an acquired taste, I suppose. It is useful if somebody else is using the main TV & you don't want to watch "Ninja Pizza Samurai Battle Cats on Ice III", or whatever.

Yes, I have the Brütal Legend Map Pack 1 (Game Pack): "TEARS OF THE HEXTADON" waiting on my PS3 (that was free until 19 November 2009) waiting for one of my kids to open their pending birthday anniversary present! :)

Interesting stuff, might get BT Ep.1, change of genre from what I've been playing recently, plus there are trophies (how sad is that?). Also kudos for their idea of boosting sales by giving an introductory price to the first episode which can further discount the "Box Set" after.

It's a shame that PixelJunk Shooter is not within the sale of PixelJunk games but then again it's quite cheap already (also woo for PixelJunk Shooter Part 2 - introduces gas and light in the new levels!).

Lastly BFBC2 DLC in my to-buy list too, as well as Joe Danger. :p

Happy gaming,

I went up to rank #6 in the Global Leaderboard on one level this morning... but I had to curtail my playing as I'm supposed to be working remotely (rather than remotely working) today.

I did send you your own level back again the other day. Did you try to open the XrossMediaBar message with my "Thanks!" in it?

I thought that may work... obviously not.

"Joe Danger" is the only game I've played in the last two weeks. Sad, isn't it? :)

You even save a penny if you buy "Episode 1" & then the remaining "Box Set" episodes.

Odd, but true!

If you buy "Joe Danger" you can try to beat the scores already established by both myself & flamingcarrot.

I guess "everybody" is also waiting for "Peggle" & "Peggle Nights" to be discounted too.

Can't be long now... can it?

I also have the Brutal Legend DLC, I quite like my Rock/Metal so I keep meaning to buy the game but haven't yet, plus it is pretty cheap these days.

I may wait for Mr Danger to drop in price, too many games at the moment. If there was online play then I would buy it just so I could drive you guys off the track.

Tempted by PJM on my PSP but I don't use it that much plus I have Tomb Raider Legend, Anniversary, some shooter which I forget the name of, Abes Odessey ... all to do. Unfortunately my PSP games seem to go unfinished.
#18
Yes, Peggle is the big one for me. Looks ace.

I will have to open that message again fp, as I must have missed that there was a level attached. I will let you know how I get on.

I'm also waiting for "Zuma" to be reduced in price too. In fact, there are more items on the 'Store than I could ever possibly fit on my 60GB hard drive (that I do not want to change in case a] the dust is what is keeping my release day console running, & b] I'm a purist with respect to original consoles).

I do have a 500GB drive to slot into a new console if my existing one ever decides not to work again. Hmmm... I think I'll do a backup now... in case I've just 'jinxed' it.

Re: "Joe Danger" level(s)... yes, please do check again. I can create a new level from scratch, but it may take me a while. Did you receive the Trophy for me receiving/playing your own?

BFN,

lol kudos for them trying at the very least.

From the few times I played Peggle it was fun though I'm in no rush to get the game - with that said if it was on Special Offer I would have to think twice before dismissing a purchase. :p

Yes, once I redeem my voucher code on my PSPgo I will have access to the following...

* 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
* Gran Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
* Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
* Gran Turismo
* LittleBigPlanet
* Motorstorm Arctic Edge
* Wipeout Pure
* Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
* Need for Speed Shift
* James Cameron's AVATAR: The Game

Not that I would play most of them anyway, but if they are free it would be rude not to at least try them! :) I will probably need to buy some M2 memory cards in advance though as 16GB of on-board storage isn't going to go very far if I stick my audio tracks on the device too.

As it has Skype functionality & an in-built microphone I was planning on ditching my iPhone when the 18 month contract is up in December this year. One of my kids has already called 'dibs' on the mobile handset, but I'm hoping it will revert to being like an iPod Touch once the SIM card is removed.

I still have PSP Universal Media Disc games unopened from 2007. I spend more time writing about video games than playing them. Oh dear.

I'm waiting for the Demon's Souls dynamic theme, the only theme I'm willing to pay for at the moment.
And by the looks of comments on the US blog there are also alot of yanks waiting as well.

Oh and I just purchased Need for speed:Shift on PS3 from HMV for 12.99. Not sure if I'm going to like it
I said I wouldn't buy anymore games; Hell! ... right I've got my scissors now where is my flexible friend.

I bought the Collector's Edition of "Need for Speed: SHIFT" [PS3] in GAME's sale just before Christmas. It has halved in price since &... yes, you guessed it, it is still unopened!

I'm thinking of buying "Demon's Souls" for another of my kids as the current flavour of the week/month/year is "Oblivion: The Elder Scrolls IV" & I believe we are all growing a little tired of the constant conversations about it! ;)

The Dynamic Themes I have on my console are...

Afrika™ Theme:Zebra [Dynamic Theme] (Japanese 'Store) [£ Free]
WipEout® HD Dynamic Theme (PS3) (European 'Store) [£ Free]
MotorStorm® Arctic Edge Dynamic Theme (PS3) [£ Free - Pricing Error? Was listed in the "Update" Blog entry as £1.59 but has never been sold at that price]
make.believe XMB™ Theme (Dynamic Theme) (US 'Store) [£ Free]
Wakeboarding Dynamic Theme (European 'Store) [£ Free]

(Notice the trend with the pricing?)

I never use any of them though. In fact, I rarely use any theme. They just get in the way & make the XrossMediaBar text unreadable.

Oh I love Oblivion. I have the GOTY edition.
My themes are Afrika, Wipeout, MS:Arctic Edge,Wakeboarding,make.Bel
**AND** Comet crash (or whatever it is called) which was free for about 5 minutes during one PSN update and it is a dam fine theme...it is my current theme. Lots of little rocks floating around and planets spinning.

If anyone wants to spoil their friday then here is a Demon's souls unboxing...

I have the same dynamic themes as you fp, with the exception of Wakeboarding, which I must have missed.

The only one I actually like, and have used, is the 'Afrika' Theme. My current theme is Patchwork Heroes, which is a basic theme, but seems to change between day and night in time with the clock, which is nice.

Pardon my lack of streetwise lingo... are "pretty pants" the opposite of "your Dad's saggy off-white elasticated pants"; i.e. do you consider "Blue Toad Murder Files" good or bad?

If good, what do you like about the series? Your comments may persuade an undecided party one way or another.

I use pants quite alot, especially when I'm going out.

When I use it, it means bad and not in the way that bad means good but in the way bad means bad.

Oh and you should get your kids a copy of D.Souls, the first level is difficult but gets easier after that.
Take a look at the videos I posted (post # 44) on http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/692613/demon-s-souls-29-58-tesco-quidco-pr

I think I used the correct word that is until EA tries to fleece more money out of us by coming up with lame costumes where I can wear pretty pants perhaps with a bad green hat for my medic character.

PS. I was going to buy a premium avatar (to be in the football mood despite the fact I dislike the sport), but decided it was perhaps a bit gay.
