Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess is great fun, and well worth £2

I didn't see the attraction to "Monsters (Probably) Stole my Princess!" when it was first release, & as I already own "Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3" & "Bejeweled 2", & I was one of the many who have bought the "Gold Edition" of "Resident Evil 5" for £9.99 (or £12.99) in the last week (to complement my existing Steelbook Edition that cost five times as much on the day of release!) the inclusion of "Resident Evil 5: Untold Stories Bundle" is decent discount, but too late to make a difference.

Looks like I'll not be spending anything this week then.

I've just bought "Shank" anyway... so that may well keep me busy until next week's 'Store Update.

BFN,

fp.

PS. No "Peggle (Nights)" included this week (again), so you get another week enjoying the purchase you made last week at full price! :)

Edited By: fanpages on Sep 06, 2010 08:49: Corrected "I'll" to "I've". [Sigh]

I am still waiting for them to discount the vastly overpiced DLC for Dragon Age, 360 owners really are lucky sometimes!

Nothing for me but thanks for posting. Good to see PSN+ getting a little more love.

"Dragon Age 2" is on the way (due for release in March 2011), so it cannot be long before there is renewed interest or an over-running project that needs some more revenue from PlayStation Store sales! :)

There has been a 4 level demo [out of 80 in total] version of "Aqua Panic!" available on the European Store since 30 June 2010.

File Size: 55MB
[1 player; HDTV screen resolution: 720p, 1080i, 1080p; DUALSHOCK®3]

By the time you have found a video & waited for Internet Buffering, you may as well have downloaded this instead & tried it out for yourself.

One of my kids is bugging me for the "Sam & Max" episodes.

I lost interest in the LucasArts graphic adventures at the first title featuring these characters (possibly because of the demise of the SCUMM(tm) interface, but possibly because I didn't really find the writing as good as the games that went before; the "Monkey Island" series, the "Indiana Jones" titles, & "The Day of the Tentacle", primarily).

(Note to self: I should really buy both Special Editions of the two "Monkey Island" titles on the 'Store at present)

I was talking to [email protected] about PS+ the other day, and it seems that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Despite lots of comments to the effect that 'the US has a better deal' on the EU blog, many of our American cousins are equally disappointed in the service to date.

The 'discounted' protection plan blog entry was marked down to 2.49/5 and some users were saying they would prefer the EU version of PS+, with a more rigid monthly update/unload of content:

Grace can you explain when each month ends and begins? And where are our dynamic themes/avatars/premium elements from the second month? I don’t understand why every Plus blog post gets 0 SCEA replies. Can we get a more defined product experience like SCEE and SCEJ offers with Plus?

I just don't think giving away game content is the way to grab existing PS3 owners. If you are newcomer to the PSN store, then it is worthwhile, but they need to be offering more than just game 'rentals' for the subscription price to pull in PSN store 'veterans'

With PSN+ my problem with particular games being discounted or free is that I would feel that I should play/buy the game even if I wouldn't had it not been because of PSN+
I have enough problems keeping on top of my bluray games without adding to it.

Much better would be a selection of games, warranty programmes (even if my phatty is too old to qualify), credit or discount programmes for ALL DLC, and other functionality (I would like some jukebox software).

The main problem with the EU PSN+ is as Carrot summed up in his final sentence

I have access to both consoles too; 4 x PS3s & 2 x Xbox 360 (Super) Elites are within my home. I only use my personal '360 for playing DVDs on.

Not that it makes any difference to the content each online service provide, though. Both can exist, but thanks for your comment.

Indeed; a sentiment I have relayed a few times before (not just at HotUKDeals.com) as well.

To be fair, the Sony representatives commenting on the European PlayStation Blog have "upped their game" recently & I am finding that comments are answered (from James Thorpe, in particular) throughout the life of the thread (not just the first few comments on page 1 as was the case a few months ago). When he says "I'll find out" in a response, again, to his credit, he does.

If you pose a question about upcoming content that doesn't sound like a moan, then you may well get an honest (as far as possible) reply.

the question is regarding the free game that you get in october(6th oct - 2nd nov)

"PSN: Street Fighter 2 HD Remix "

Yes, the free game in October is SFII HD Remix - I also bought it during the recent offer.

decisions, which games to buy???

have some heat, should put you on the hot page!

In the same boat as you fp regarding resi evil 5, got the steelbook at launch but wanted the gold edition to go with it, so have an order in at zavvi and hmv (ready to cancel zavvi when hmv confirm) If they had reduced this a couple of weeks ago I would have bought it!

too bad sony can never get the store working properly on time every week. PS+ part is all messed up so you got to do vigorous searching and you miss stuff such as themes anyway

There is not a fixed time for the availability of the content on a weekly basis (or "weakly" basis, if you prefer).

In fact, there is no guarantee that any new content will be available every week, any week, or at all, for that matter.

What is your problem with the Themes?

You can find them in the "Latest" section, the "Other Media" section, or by using the "Search" facility.

No it just isn't on. Following comments from eu blog too until it was down

I had a "400 Bad Request" error a few weeks ago.

I found that my Mozilla Firefox Add-On/Extension "Adblock Plus" was flagging the content & stopping access to it. Disabling the Add-on or viewing in another browser worked; so I just removed the entry in the AdBlock Plus database for the images on the Blog site.

Sorry, I didn't take notes at the time (although, perhaps I should have done).

I just used the "Open blockable items" [CTRL]+[SHIFT]+[V] feature when viewing the Blog.EU.PlayStation.com site & removed all those listed for the playstation.com domain.

Do you have access to another web browser? Is the site viewable in that?

So is "Resident Evil 5: Untold Stories Bundle" an actual game, or an add on. sounds stupid, but I've never bought anything from PSN before, always looking but never seem to have decent full games.

I recently have got myself another PS3, a slim. Just wondering if I signed up for the extra service, if I could DL the Ratchet and Clank on both PS3's?

Untold Stories is two chunks of DLC (and a few costumes) for the full game. If you don't already have the game, you are best off buying the Gold Edition from HMV for £9.99, which already includes the DLC.

got Monsters (Probably) Stole my Princess! today, is there anything else worth getting? from reading the other comments it wouldn't seem so.

I'm not really a big spender on psn, in the 3yrs and 4-5months I've owned the ps3 I've only bought several games/dlcs from the store(the most expensive of which was dragon age: awakening £30 or so):

dragon age: awakening(expansion pack for dragon age: origins);
return to ostagar(dlc for dragon age: origins);
warderns keep(dlc for dragon age: origins);
trine(got last year when it was reduced);
battlefield 1943(got last year when it was reduced);
super street fighter 2 turbo hd remix(got it a few weeks back);
let golf;
monsters (probably) stole my princess!

got a £20 psn card for £17.99(bought from cheap xbox live codes) and £50 card for £40(from tescos with 10% off code), so £70 worth for £57.99(could have been a little bit cheaper if I'd got the £20 card from the hut etc when it was £16-£17). still have £5 and a bit left over, so have ~£65 worth of content from the psn store in the 3 1/2years(well just under) period(all of which has been bought in the last 1 - 1 1/2 years, ~£40 of which has been on dragon age: origins expanion and dlcs).
