NICE 1 MATE ,
there is also a load of MOVE demo`s for free so u can try b4 u buy !

Hmm Mega Man 10 is very tempting, though I really do not want to update as I am still keeping an eye out for some good options the jailbreak may bring, except for just bringing backup capabilities, which I have no intention of using. Some software that might make the PS2-compatibly and blu-ray regionfree would be very much appreciated.

You are not going to find official Sony Computer Entertainment software for this available on PlayStation Store this week, or next, or...

Everybody needs a bit of Guybrush in their gaming history.

Have you played either of the "Monkey Island" SCUMM [Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion] graphic adventures previously, Andy?

Good updates FP - Always a good sign!

I'm sure that community will find a way to download the Move demo's and post them somewhere... a shame.... or maybe all Move titles will need the latest firmware :p

Yes, both titles feature PS3 Trophy Support.

"The Secret of Monkey Island" (Special Edition) has twelve.
"Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge" (Special Edition) also has the same number (one of which is "Speed Demon: Complete the game in under three hours")!

Ha ha sad or what....I was just looking at the trophy lists for the two games.
Both monkey games have very good reviews so the bundle is certainly worth purchasing rather than get them individually.

I still have the two titles in their full PC CD-ROM "big box" packaging (as I do with many of the early LucasArts adventures).
I'm hoping "Day of the Tentacle" is the next title to be brought to PS3/Xbox 360 consoles (or Wii console if not the other two).

FYI: A previous discussion within a HotUKDeals Deal thread:
EXPIRED - Broken Sword: The Shadow Of The Templars - Director's Cut - Nintendo Wii - £17.99 Delivered @ Gameplay (release 20/03/09)

I also made some comments at 1upGamers.com previously.

...and, of course, "Monkey Island 2: Special Edition - iPhone game NOW 59p!", but I prefer the large(r) screen & "joypad" controller interface rather than the iPhone's small(er) touch screen.

PPS. A "Monkey Island™ 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge™ Trial" has been available on the European PlayStation Store since 7 July 2010.

File Size: 1165MB
1 player; 422KB minimum save size; HDTV screen resolution: 720p, 1080i, 1080p; Network Features

The Monkey Island games happen to be one of the gaps in my gaming history that I quite fancy trying as ive never had the pleasure.

Are they a goer for a newbie to the series or are they gonna look dated to me and not hold that same charm that people had when originally playing them? I started off as a Commodore 64 man so am confident I can get past the dated looks!

I've seen a few listed on eBay over the years; more so now they have been available on this generation of gaming hardware.

Hard to answer without bias, as the LucasArts adventure games gave me many hours/days/months of gaming entertainment when they were first available, & anybody in this position is likely to hold them in high regard (with "rose-tinted spectacles").

However, the "Special Edition" versions of the games offer both the original "SCUMM" (Point'n'Click) interface by allowing the user to select a verb & a noun to apply it to, but also an improved "high definition" visual interface is also now implemented to allow a (now) more conventional "joypad" movement approach.

You can switch between either view by the click of a button whilst playing.

Shame you cant get the voices on the classic version though, that was the whole reason I got into the genre through talkies like Day Of The Tentacle and Broken Sword.

I wish they could have a classic version with the talkies and single click interface.

Good update this week. Everyone can thank me for the price reduction of Peggle, as I bought it full price about three weeks ago.

Will probably pick up the Monkey Island bundle, and try out Enslaved. Pieces of eight?!

beneath a steal sky was worse coming in on 11.

Any idea when the Heavy Rain Move patch is released?

If you mean me, the PlayStation Store is typically updated between 4pm & 5pm, but has been known to be updated as late as 8pm onwards (or a day late!).

I would look around 5:30pm-6pm, or try to beat the rush by logging-in at 4pm & using the Store's "Search" feature instead of waiting for the "Latest" menu icons to be updated.

Is Peggle any good? Is it going to make me throw the controller at my television?

"Peggle™ Demo (Playable Demo)" (103MB) has been available on the US 'Store since 22 December 2009, Andy, if you have the facilities available to access/download & review this in advance of parting with your £3.19 from the European Store.
