The Deal:

Packages are offer 3 night stays for the price of 2. This also comes with a FREE EUROSTAR first class upgrade. Total price (from £139 includes BOTH EUROSTAR first class travel and 3 NIGHTS HOTEL ACCOMMODATION (B&B)

ALSO GET 6% quidco! (which im cross about because I forgot to check before I booked my trip grr).. means prices FROM £130 pp

The first class (aka Leisure Select) Eurostar experience includes: Champagne to welcome you on board, newspapers and magazines available, private premium carriage with wider seats, tables, more leg room, complementary fine wine's and beers, 3 course meal included served to your seat!

The destinations available are: Lille (fr 149), Paris (fr 139), Brussels (139), Bruges (199), Antwerp (169) - (nb- prices are FROM, Per person, and for 3 night B&B accommodation and return eurostar first class travel)

Here is how to book (this is quite tricky so follow the instructions carefully):
Go to the link (or click go to deal)
http://www.driveline.co.uk/

and click EUROSTAR at the top of the screen !!
Select where you wish to travel from and to (one of the destinations listed above), input you're dates (within the offer period) making sure you have selected a total three nights stay. Leave star rating and class as 'ANY', and make sure 'breaks with eurostar' is checked. Then click 'SEARCH'

You will now get a list of hotels.. NOTE ONLY HOTELS LISTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE ARE AVAILABLE ON THIS OFFER (you can select a different hotel but will not receive this offer, but may still get a good deal (without first class upgrade)

Select the hotel you are interested in, on the next page you will get a list of offers showing the price, select the offer " Double 3nts with FREE Eurostar UPGRADE " you will then get a travel summary. Click choose travel times - NOTE: you must select an off peak trains as some busy trains will have a supplement to pay, if you wish to travel on them. This will be shown in this page. Be flexable with train times and TRY NOT to travel out on Friday as these are very busy and it is likely you're chosen train will carry a supplement (which will be shown and detailed).
Select your chosen train and do the same for the return journey!

You will once again get a full summary, and then are able to book! Easy.

I know the booking process sounds a bit complicated but it really is easy. These deals are amazing prices. I have personally travelled leisure select (first class) before and can assure you it is worth it! The service and food/drink was great.. you can easily pay £139 for a non-flexible leisure select return TICKET ONLY, I paid about £150 just for ticket- So with hotel as well has to be hot!

I have looked all over and can not find a deal to match this one.

I have just booked a trip for August, going on a Friday returning a Monday to Brussels for £159 each on this deal ! Very good price for long weekend first class 3 * (B&B) Brussels city break!

Here is an example I just got:

Travel from St Pancras on 16/8 on 1424 train to Lille. Check in hotel Holiday Inn Lille Centre (B&B) 3 nights, return on 19/8 on 1738 train... total £149 per person! This journey was found 1048 10/05 and is available. Just 149, go with you're partner, friend. Very very good price!

Message to "unhappybunny" - when did you make your online booking? If it was within the last 12 weeks (which i am sure it was) you can simply click the link from Quidco to the site to http://www.driveline.co.uk/ or http://buyat.greatgetaways.co.uk/?P36=8CNPEL which ever you used and this will create a tracking to the site. Although no transaction has been "tracked" you can then message Quidco using "missing transactions" and there will be a list of all your linked attempts to that site. Simply follow it through clicking the most recent tracked attempt and fill in details including reference numbers, email address, booking info etc and it will be manually processed.

If you are unsure drop me a message and I will be happy to help further. Hope this helps!! :whistling:

From Quidco - "We only accept enquiries regarding transactions made in the last 12 weeks on most merchants. Some have shorter timespans."

Unfortunately only the Mercure Eiffel Suffren hotel is available for the period we're interested in (13/16 June) and yet over £300... Never mind, we'll go in second class!

Thanks a lot regardless, brilliant deal and great post with a lot of effort in, heat and rep' added!
#5
Can't you get this cheaper by booking the travel and hotel yourself? (ie: 2 sharing a very low quality hotel traveling by eurostar for 3 nights for £298 is very do-able! in fact I'm sure if u did it yourself you could afford a 4 star hotel for this price)

In fact I will go and check ;o)

Not criticizing this btw, just trying to get you guys best deal .....

Is that first class tickets as per the offer above though?

Although you can get the deal much cheaper, the point is the upgraded travel, which normally costs £115 each way so the overall package with it included is a great deal, and there are several dates available for the various locations.

I'm seriously tempted - just for the brownie points with the good lady wife.
#9
As an aside.
If you're a Virgin Group employee, you and youre travelling companions (I think its 4 max) are entitled to free 1st Class upgrade on Eurostar.

The usual place gives you the details.
#10
I could not find where to add an infant to the booking, is it possible with this offer ?
#11
I had the same problem. I contacted Eurostar and they stated infants (under 4) travel on laps therefore it would not need to be listed. I also phoned one of the hotels in Lille (Alliance) and they said infants are allowed in the room, therefore I suspect it is ok.

We I decided to book it I received an error after we paid stating we need to call the driveline helpline..... so will need to call them in the morning!

Anyone else have this problem?

No. it all booked fine for me, I called them however to confirm how I would get tickets etc, they said that I will get another email shortly before travel (7-14 days prior) and it contains all the details, and tickets are collected from St Pancras (like an e-ticket most airlines offer)

Hi. Unhappybunny how did you get the 4* Leopold in Brussels for £175? The website is quoting me £229.00 (Aug 18 - 21)! Thanks.
#14
tempted!!!
#15
Was initially very impressed with the deal. Disappointed when I reached the page where you choose your travel time for the dates chosen
London to paris
14/8-onward
17/8- return
Champerret Elysees Hotel (which is in the list in original post)

Then when you get to choosing travel times you will end up paying atleast extra £45 each way . s comes upto £ 295 / adult .Unless you can travel before 8.30 AM or after 6 PM. so if you have to travel from a different place to londn to board the train, may not be useful. I personally wud nt fancy getting to a place I am not familiar with at ate evenings. So not a deal for me. But not a bad one if it suits someone

No booked the Floris Midi hotel, the hotel seems quite nice and it is apparently walk distance from the Eurostar terminal.

I have just checked the dates you have posted and it is coming up at £139 per person for this hotel, which is £20 less than what I paid ! So seems a good deal. If you wanted a better hotel Holiday Inn Brussels Centre is available too and it is 4 star. This is 189 per person.

Hope this helps

Hi
Depending on where you live in Scotland, I would recommend National Express East Coast rail service.

It takes about 4.5 hours from Edinburgh to London (I travelled up to Edinburgh last year for a weekend break this way)

Make sure you book ONLINE from http://www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com/

This way you get 10% off the fare, also use a railcard if possible to save 33%.

Fares start from £14 each way! Book early though

Or you could use one of the two Scotrail sleeper services, an overnight train which connects much of Scotland with London, prices start from £19 each way. http://www.firstgroup.com/scotrail/content/caledoniansleeper/index.php

Then of course connect with Eurostar (which from Kings Cross (nat ex ec) is 5 minutes easy walk, from Euston (scotrail) about 10 mins walk just down the Euston Road past the British Library )

Just for anyone who wanted to check about taking a baby. I contacted driveline after making my booking yesterday, who said taking a baby was fine. They will need to add the baby's name to the booking, and will get a cot requested for you - I also requested a non smoking room.

For some of you having problems booking, I had problems yesterday when using a Switch card, but used a credit card (extra fee applies) and it went through fine.

Here is a tip.. but keep it hush hush don't want companies to find out about this loop hole and close it:
:-D

If you have a visa CREDIT card and wish to pay with that on a site that charges fees, select visa DEBIT as card type when paying. Then enter the credit card num as normal. I did this when booking a flight from last minute and saved £15 on the CC fee... it all went through no probs. I also did it on this deal, and saved £7

If that's true, that's good advice - thanks:thumbsup:

I've booked but I'm not sure it's gone through as I got the message 'This break may be available to quote or book through our reservation helpline:

Please make a note of your holiday details and call one of our reservation agents...'

Did anyone else get this? I don't really want to do it over the phone as I want the 6% Quidco!

cold from me - those fare supplements at the end are a joke.

headline price to lure you in and them whammo

I didn't pay any fare supplements ... it is the same with any travel (including airline) bargain offers are limited, and off peak restricted.

Thought I'd do a quick random comparism between two operators who do Eurostar city breaks, each give 6% Quidco: Shortbreaks, and Driveline. Only staying 2 nights, cant afford to take time out from work.

Shortbreaks: for 2 nights Grand Hotel de Paris (2*, near Gare de L'Est next to Gare du Nord) 14-16th june
832-1147 am Sat St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord
1613-1734 pm return
£149 pp x 2 = £298 total

Driveline: for 2 nights Espace Champerret Hotel (2* in Louis Michel, several stops from Gare St Lazarre)
14-16th june
same Eurostar, outward £120 supplement
return £14.40 supplement
Total £283.20 pp x 2

If we decided to go I think we'd book with Shortbreaks just by that account!
