The year is 2047. Years earlier, the pioneering research vessel Event Horizon vanished without a trace. Now a signal from it has been detected, and the United States Aerospace Command responds. Hurtling toward the signal's source are a fearless captain (Laurence Fishburne), his elite crew and the lost ship's designer (Sam Neill).

Their mission: find and salvage the state-of-the-art spacecraft. What they find is state-of-the-art interstellar terror. What they must salvage are their own lives, because someone or something is ready to ensnare them in a new dimension of unimaginable fear.

I think this was the first thing I bought on DVD when I first got my RealMagic Hollywood Plus circa 1999. Happy Days.

hated this film but great price!

Agreed! Such a negtive film!
#9
Really good film starring Sam Neill.
I thought horror films were supposed to be...'negative'?...
#10
Cracking film and good deal for 2disc SE, which is what we're voting for, not the film credentials. All the Harry Spotter films and books are garbage, but if they are a good price, i still vote on them
#11
Cracking film, actually surprised so many people don't like it
#12
This is the best film ever made...............by Paul W S Anderson.
#13
I actually thought this is one of the best horror films made in the last 15 years!! Anyone ever freeze framed the images from the 'other dimension?' Twisted and sick lol

Good price OP for special edition, hot from me!

I loved this film.... Love the genre though, so that includes Moon, Solaris, 2001 etc...
#15
Obviously a 'marmite' film then. Personally I thought it was a really enjoyable horror.
#16
Amazing horror film set in space.

Voted Hot.

This is the only film that has ever scared me. Horror flicks usually bore me but I nearly poo'd myself watching this.
#18
I love horror films and happily watched the Exorcist et al without being bothered at all, but actually found this film really creepy! Dunno what it was about it, but it was so easy to forget it was the dude from Jurassic Park and I really got sucked into this film (not literally, of course)...

One of the few hooror films of recent years with the capacity to genuinely creep you out. The film is played 'straight' i.e. no knowing gags, irony etc. Quite inventive stuff. Assomeone pointed out (above) some of the glipses into the 'hell' dimension are quite disturbing. In a nutshell: if you liked 'Hellraiser' you'll love this too.

Awesome film, scared me too. Not sure why people would think its dull. Maybe they were TOO scared! It's one of the best sci-fi horrors i've ever seen.

Anyone know what the second disc extra's are all about?
