Don't mock the deal because of the price... Think about what it is you're getting...

13.65% TCB
Upto 18% Quidco

Flying in a Mig-29 closer to the edge of space than any other civillian could possibly dream to go for the price of a family saloon car ... rather than paying Mr Branson £250000 for a trip that probably won't ever happen!

Experience the most mind-blowing aerial adventure imaginable, a supersonic flight to the edge of space in a MiG-29. Head to Russia's world-renowned Sormovo Airfield for the trip of a lifetime, usually reserved for the likes of astronauts and cosmonauts. After meeting the instructor and ground staff for a full pre-mission briefing, don a g-suit and get strapped into the mighty MiG-29. Hold on tight for a jaw-dropping vertical take-off and climb to the very edge of the atmosphere, breaking the sound barrier and experiencing a barrage of aerial acrobatics along the way. Once at 80,000 feet, the awesome sight of the curvature of the Earth will take your breath away and make a memory to last a lifetime. Literally, out of this world

I could think of 14,000 other things I'd sooner spend £1 on than flying around in a 40 year old plane with a Russian.

I was going to do this about 10 years ago when it was about £6000 - Looked 2 years ago and it was £12000.
There's lots of websites selling it for about this price, but if you are going to do it, you may as well pay the extra and do the tour and the photos too.
You also need to sort out your flights and visa for this offer.

Probably add at least £1000 for accommodation and travel to Nizhny Novgorod?

Slightly cheaper here (without cashback) and more options included (including flights from Moscow/transfers/accommodation).

£14,000 to get high? That's way too far out of my price range...man.

This is the other way Russians get high. The athletes just get forced to take drugs.

I'm glad I wasn't the the only one that noticed it was the MiG-29, beautiful plane, superseded a few times now though.

To be honest I believe Russian pilots have got more than their fair share of flak due to the old, poorly maintained aircraft they're tasked to fly. Some of the epithets they've been adorned with are a bit unfair, e.g. ''In Soviet Russia the plane flies you!!''.

When it comes to manual flying, they're probably amongst the best in the world (though probably not so when they're on Stolichnaya Red) because they have to be.

Remember the guy who landed a commercial Tupolev in a corn field after all three engines failed a few years ago (bootleg Jet A laced with water). He not only saved all his passengers and the plane, but the plane was put back into service within a few weeks :-)

If I had this kind of money I'd definitely buy this. Good find OP, heated.

It's a shame Thunder City closed down in South Africa. A much more inviting country to visit, and a much better plane (English Electric Lightning) to reach the edge of space. That plane still holds numerous world records...
