The GeForce 6200 Series cards are a great starting point for someone looking for something that gives a little bit extra. Designed with home multimedia in mind, the GeForce 6200 is well suited to Media Centre-style PCs. Cards in this series are good for anyone who feels that although media applications are not the primary focus for their machine, they'd still like to be able to game and watch DVDs when the occasion arises, without breaking any budgets.

This 256MB version offers more versatility to those interested in photo-editing and memory-intensive multimedia applications.

Nothing really special for a 6200...picked up an 6800GT for this price last year from Ebuyer. Also the comments about the 256MB are incorrect marketting fluff, photo-editing does not use the video memory nor do media-intensive applications. In actual fact it's likely the 128MB versions are faster than this card, the 6200 core simply isn't powerful enough to use that size of memory and the 256MB memory in this case is very cheap hence the low bandwidth and slow speed.

I have a 6200 AGP card in my retired HP desktop. More than 3 years ago it was a low-end card, but it was OK and it could support pixel shader 3. Nowadays, you are better off spending a tad more for at least the last generation of cards, like the 7300LE (which I have bought on sale for less than this), or one of those low-end Dx10 cards.
