RS had a similar deal last year and we didnt sell out of them for about 2 hours so you never know

I got this for JL at £329. Quite possibly the best 32" TV for SD picture - seen some others god they are terrible. Good for PS3, so many connections (using all 3 HDMI's at the minute and component for 360). Only slight gripe is that it takes a full 7 seconds to switch between the HDMI devices! Also sometimes (expecially PC @ 1360 x 768) it doesn't show the picture at all until you flick through other HDMI's and go back to it.

As soon as you set foot in the store they will try and sell you an LG.

#11
Any 37" 1080p in the sale?
#12
Whilst I appriciate that this will indeed be a hot deal when/If it actually happens, and I have no reason to doubt you alex the kid, I dont really see why this is being voted hot, maybe this should have been in the misc section and then appear in deals when/if this is actually made available! not voting hot or cold but will reserve judgement until boxing day thanks

You mean one of these:
http://www.richersounds.com/productlist.php?cda=productlist&sgroup=AVRECEIVERS

That's more than half the price of the TV itself :w00t: My "old" Philips 32pfl7562 took less than a second to switch between them. I think the response rate (8ms) was slightly higher cos it felt it, not sure what this one is. It's mainly the PC via HDMi that it doesn't really like, hopefully a firmware upgrade Sony?
#15
another stupid instore only RS offer, so cold from me.
#16
will there be any panasonic deals then too, after seeing one of these today TX32LZD80 i'm very impressed with the screens
#17
is this offer available online? or just store?
#18
They should rename themselves to "RicherPockets" its not a bad telly, a bit old though probably going to be discontinued, maybe already is, but you can't beat a service which delivers direct to your door and for free :whistling:
ahhh nothing like having a good 'ol moan at 2:30 in za morning

Yes i think this model has been replaced with the 32v4500 i think. Having said that mine was manufactured in november 2008 ie last month (when i bought it lol). Or is the 4500 just a higher spec model?

i got a sony strdg910 hdmi amp, screen flickers like crazy for 20secs or so 2 ajust when i switch from tv to pc, is rather annoying, plus i find sometimes, it switches to 800x600 for no reason, and thats a pain too, but live with it for now,lol

Not bad but <20% off in a boxing day sale is hardly staggering in this current climate...stay in bed, better deals will be available on-line

Always found RS an excellent source of bargains. Any idea if the sale includes any 22" LCD TVs?

yes me too . looking for a decent tv for my kids room so son can play xbox and also use it as a monitor and tv but they all seem to be either rubbish or massively overpriced.

Got to agree with this.

Normally the months of Jan, Feb and Mar are quiet for retailing after the big Xmas madness, but I think that 2009 is going to be a graveyard for many of them. This of course means lots of great deals for the public, and I feel that items such as TVs are going be cut to pieces in sales in the first few months. I'll wait to get mine then.

I got this set from currys for 399.99 or something like that with the Sony home theatre set.
Absolutely quality TV. Over the moon with it.
After using the settings from the AVforums and afew tweaks myself it looks crisp. Really, really happy with it. Also, the colours and gaphics on the PS3 games has improved no end compared to my previous phillips 720p tele. I didnt expect much difference at all but everything just looks so much smoother and more deeper in the colour.
After having it a month or 2 and logging about a week on COD5 online I can honestly say that this is well worth the money. Also, the SD picture is great. I watch alot of football on sky sports and sky sports news and never have no problems with shadowing with the scrolling text or fast movements.
Highly recommended by me.
Obviously there is better out there but for me 1080p wasnt nessessary, 32" looks plenty big enough in my living room and from what Ive read at this size, there is not much difference beteen 720p and 1080p.
I have the PS3, Wii, Sky+ and a logitec surround sound system (sold the home theatre kit for £100) connected to the tele and there is still plenty of connections left either via hdmi or scart.

I've had my eye on the Panasonic TH50PZ80B from RS... its still at £1100, any chance that may be dropping in price soon?
#31
Not a good TV, but if you are on a budget fair enough... Neither hot or cold for me...
#32
Knew it! This is a lovely deal, hope I get one. This deal is spectacular because I work for one of RS's main rivals and I know that the TV is being sold less than cost (due to rebates) and the 5 year warranty costs them even more money.
#33
Are John Lewis open on Boxing day to do a price match and get their 5 year warranty?

Hi, I am just curious here (and this is not aimed at big_al as a sniping comment) but how do you judge a good television and how do you relate it to size and price?

Assuming that money is no object, anything is possible but most folks (except those on here :):)) live in the real world and I, for one amongst many, see the Sony 32v4000 to be excellent value for money. Why is it not a good television and what is a good 32" television for this price?[/SIZE]

Checked prices this morning and not really any worthwhile deals on any other sizes as of yet, this may change though

In my local John Lewis (Trafford) this is £369

If the pound picks up - and the downturn keeps going - this will be the price of a 1080p 42 inch by summer.
