If a fault develops on the iPod I'd much rather deal with Amazon's stellar customer services than trying to get a refund or replacement from an eBay seller any day of the week.

I'd happily pay Amazon's price for that piece of mind

Got one a couple of weeks ago from Asda Direct for £159 and that was the best price then. Its now gone up to £162, so this looks a good price. (Though i did get £5 Quidco)

I would never get one of these off ebay. You have no come back.

You do actually.. eBay does a stellar job of doing over their sellers.

I thought pretty much all Apple items (iPod, iPhone, iPad etc) were covered under warranty by Apple direct so it shouldnt matter where they are bought from?

I got this same iPod Touch from Amazon 3 weeks ago for £159, and it was a good price then - this is even better!

HOT!

yeah you get one years warranty from date of receipt however if you buy off of ebay you dont get a reciept and so you wont get a full years warranty like you would if you buy it from amazon etc

You can get them even cheaper from the Chinese guy who also sells DVDs at the market. Sure they're called myPods but they're all the same so I'll vote cold on this deal as well

Totall newby here - is 8gb enough or are you better off going for 32gb - also can it be used as pay as you go or do you need a contract?
Thanks

it's an ipod touch, not an iphone .....

I've had my 32gb Touch for 6 months and would highly recommend it. However, it would be worth paying the extra £55 for the 32gb version instead of the 8gb one, if you could afford to: 300% increase in capacity for 25% increase in price! Maths isn't my strong point, but I thinks that's right?oO

How much usable space do you get on the 32GB model? On my 8GB I only get 6.5GB.

I can use 29GB on the 32GB Touch, which isn't great, but better than 6.5. However, as long as you don't mind changing music playlists and deleting games and apps, 6.5 is large enough to enjoy the Touch.

i would recommend getting a 16gb one, i have both 8gb and 32gb.

8gb is to small and 32gb is to big. 16gb is just right :D

if something goes wrong with a ipod you take it to an apple store to have it repaired/exchanged 1 year warranty.based on the serial number not where it was bought from.i know because its happen to me and at no time did the repairer ask for a reciept or anything else.
#19
If it's based on the serial then presumably they track from activation?

Yes.
Buying off ebay is very little risk in this situation.
There are cheaper options available than this.

Actually it is from purchase date aslong as you have a reciept to prove it i know this because my 3rd gen touch broke so i went on the apple site and registered it and the site said that it was out of warranty but if i had a receipt that could show i brought it within a year they would fix it free of charge

Yes I did and that's the reason I had to show my reciept
If it was from activation people could still have 1st gen touches under warranty which isn't possible

you check your warranty status by serial number on apple site.sometimes you will need to contact apple with proof/time of purchase.i dont know how long you had your ipod before it broke and then you registered it maybe that length of time was the reason.i have not said its from activation.i am only writing this because the stupid psn is down and i had my second boring looooooong weekend withou it.
