As is often the way with these eBay Outlet deals, the description is a little confused. However, if I'm reading it right then this looks to be a good spec Intel Core i5 480M for the money.
This is my first attempt at a deal, so apologies if I've missed off any useful info.

Hot if it is an i5, but it says i3 in the ebay picture.

Yeah, I've emailed them to confirm this, but I imagine they've just used a stock photo as it is definitely listed as i5 in the spec list. Also asked them to confirm the RAM and whether there's an HDMI port, but I suspect they'll have sold out before I get a reply.

Just gone for it and took a chance - definitely an i5 in the spec and 500gb hard drive not worried about bluray or HDMI - looking for one at @ £300 so hopefully this will fit the bill - As to poor manufacturer - this will be the 3rd Acer I've got - the I3 I got for my daughter is brilliant - the one I'm replacing has had its day now but was great - fingers crossed with this one

Hope it works out for those who grabbed one. I dallied over it in the end because of the temptation of getting a Sandybridge with USB 3.0 for an extra £50. Might regret it, but I'm in no great hurry.

Sandybridge i5 for an extra £50? Do you have a link?

Sorry, I meant a Sandy Bridge i3, which are meant to be slightly better than the 1st gen i5 and somewhat more future proof.

not sure if theres any such thing as future proofing your PC or any technology come to that. an i5 processor, 500gb hard drive, 4gb Ram for £300 - for the time being thats about as good as I could hope for I think
#11
got one last night. thanks.
#12
just received it - i3 processor, 320gb hard drive - basically a completely different PC - no phone number to contact - so I've just sent a email off to see whats happening
#13
mine's just arrived too. same spec i3 processor and 320gb drive. I too have sent email off to request either a laptop that meets the advert or a refund....
#14
no response yet (only sent it off this afternoon) but I too asked for the original spec, a reduction in price on the i3 or a refund at their expense- I'll keep you posted to see what happens.

Shocking service, will ensure I avoid this company. Hope they get it sorted for you.

offered 10% off to keep it or a full refund and they'll arrange collection at their expense - sounds like a genuine error that they are going to sort out.

If I hadn't just ordered another laptop I might have kept it £293 isn't a bad price, but I've just splashed out on another laptop instead.....

Same here - in two minds to be honest as there was a Toshiba on here the other night that was a second gen i3 chip with 500gb HD for about the same price. Gonna do a bit of research and see what I can get for equivalent cash - if they knock £50 off rather than £30 I'll keep I think but if not I think there will be other bargains to be had - oh well genuine mistake like you said and they did follow up so - these things happen.
