No Bluetooth and webcam?

Yes but its £400, you cant have everything for that price. Great deal if you want Blue Ray laptop.
#4
there is bluetooth and webcam

Is this a real bargain for ~£400? I don't think the spec is that special.
#5
Was tempted by this, until I spotted the additional £17.20 charge for delivery to Northern Ireland :(
#6
Temted but still looking at the £499 comet deal with a HD4570 gfx card :s

I wish those people living on a different isand to the UK mainland would stop moaning about P&P or move. I don't want to subsidise your postage so get over it.

Not asking you to, simply pointing out an additional charge that might be applicable to HUKD members.

You do realise that not all HUKD members live on the UK mainland

Btw, just to keep you fully informed, there's also an additional charge for Scottish Highlands, which I believe is also on that island you live on :p

I know I used to live there but for some reason people that live there don’t seem to moan about it like those from NI. :w00t:
To be fair you weren’t moaning so much as pointing out a fact. Some people really do act aggrieved though as if it’s their right to pay the same. Take it up with the couriers as it’s not the retailers fault.
#10
Thought this may go warmer even cheaper than last post - blu ray a dead format already?
#11
You can bet your ass if it was the other way around and UK mainlanders had to pay these crazy delivery charges from a N Ireland company there would be plenty of complaints
#12
Voted hot.

1. I believe the screen is actually 16" not 15.6
2. no Quidco so far as I can see
3. the cheapest delivery option is:
- Any weekday Up to 4 days. UK mainland. £9.95

4. surcharge on credit cards - 0.95% on Visa and Mastercard

"... all credit card transactions are subject to a surcharge which is levied by the respective credit card companies. We pass on this surcharge as an itemised extra charge, allowing you, the customer, to decide whether to accept the charge, or use an alternative payment method, such as bank debit card, where no surcharge is applicable."
#13
2% quidco from laptopsdirect.co.uk, the same voucher works there.....

Just ordered one.

France is a different country though

There seems to be a serious issue with the LCD screens on these laptops:

Shouldn't really matter. It's the same distance away (well, France is a LOT closer than Northern Ireland is to me).

Very hot, great spec for the price.

These lovely Acer guys had way too many chargebacks thus having such a levi. That is assuming they say truth. Any good company with their transaction volume/turnover should expect to pay no more that .5%

That along speaks volumes to me.

Northern Ireland is in the same country as England. Although they are basically both their own country, they are both in the UK which is the "official country" of the area - if that makes any sense! Thats why the government governs both England and Northern Ireland.

This is a good deal for a blu-ray laptop but unless you actually want the blu-ray I wouldn't bother. Do laptops really need blu ray? I can't see many situations in which it would be useful. Yes I see it has HDMI out for connecting to a TV but blu ray players can be had for £50 now I see from the front page.

You have a sense of humour failure. :p
#31
Agharta you do realise that royal mail charges the same to post something anywhere in the uk. It's the same cost to post from NI to England as it is from England to England. All this overseas talk but you forget we live in the same economy. This is why people get confused at the extortionate prices the couriers charge for the same service

I'm tired! And you would be shocked at the amount of people who don't know Northern Ireland is the same country!

Benjyyy - the Royal Mail are obliged to do that as a condition of their license. The couriers aren't, so its obvious they would charge more for deliveries that are more expensive for them.
