So you just want fluffy positive upbeatr posts then.

The booking, the offer and procedures for the £10 deal; were a shambles. Surely both side of peoples experiences should be aired. So keep your opinions about me to yourself; keep comments on subject.

Website suggested that tens of rooms were available at £10 in the hotel I wanted, booked it over and over again and the site crashed each time. When returning to the site the rooms had gone. When a room was advertised at £10 it then appeared on the invoice at £69 +. The one room I had booked for LOndon was confirmed as a hotel in the middle of nowhere. An angry email to DeVere has now resulted in a room in the London hotel as originally booked.

I completely agree. Both peoples experiences should be aired. "Not getting caught up in that shambles again" doesn't help anyone though and isn't an experience! It's a completely unhelpful generic post.

Why was it a shambles? What Hotel did you stay in? When did you go? Did you pay full price? Did you complain? Was anything done about it?

These details would greatly help members who are looking to book.

Just like to add ive now booked 9 weekend breaks with De Vere and they were all £10 ! and i didnt have a problem with the web site at any point, or getting any rooms for £10, and neither have our friends who have booked several aswell, maybe some people have had problems or tried to book too late when all of the rooms have gone, at £10 they deals arnt going to stay around for long understanably ! we have just come back from our 2nd weekend away and the hotels we visited were superb and wonderful value for money and i shall be looking forward to all the other weekends we have booked :-)

I believe kids are free - including breakfast. When booking it asks how many adults and children there are. If you put children in it will allocate a family room or larger double if available and will show you the price for the room. Sometimes it is slightly more but a lot of the time its the same price as the promo.

I gave up on the website when I tried earlier....

I booked 3 nights over the easter weekend and a 2 night stay next month all for £10.00 per night
We have already stayed at The Swan and Baroney Castle for £10.00 a night
They were both fine
We are going to Daventry later this month also booked at £10.00 per night
I think you have to get on the site as soon as the offer is released

Probably ok if you can a room for £19 or near to it. The Telegraph today (Sunday) rates the 5 star Southampton De Vere as abysmal. 2 star rather than 5. My own experience of the De Vere between Southampton and Portsmouth confirms this rating for De Vere - where on earth did they get their stars from? Too few staff, too inexperienced, poor English and poor quality accommodation. Not really a hotel - more of a barracks. Travelodge is better.

I have been to Wycombe, Watford and Chesham and they are all lovely. I am sure you cannot go wrong, especially at these prices. I paid £5 to check out at 2pm rather than 10am to extend our stay which was handy.

I'm just back from a great weekend in denham grove. Very nice.
By the way how can they say "there has never been a better time to get away". Bit missleading as the starting price of this offer is almost double that of the last one!

Anyway. Still a bargain at £19.

Stayed at Wokefield Park near Reading. If you like golf and tea/coffee then you'll be in heaven!

Bit of a mixed bag:
nice room, flatscreen tv, free tea/coffee/internet.
Iffy breakfast, out in the sticks.

Still, 19 quid a night is a good deal.

Travelodge is better.

It's Slaley Hall by the way...and before you start criticising "cheap southern slums" Slaley Hall is no better or worse than the De Vere hotels on offer elsewhere in the UK.

Of course, if you'd been talking Seaham Hall....then that's a different matter entirely......

we went to Baroney Castle nr Peebles 35 mins for Edinburgh For £10.00 it was fine
#26
Thanks but only 1 hotel in Scotland and no deals for there!

Have to say after visiting 3 diff De Vere hotels, all at £10 i might add, they were all lovely, fab rooms, good food and very nice helpful 'english' staff !! I too read a whole load of bad reviews about all of the DeVere hotels and the lack of english staff iwas very worried, but after actually going there myself i cant see why anyone would write so much rubbish, what do some people want for £10 ? most of the hotels are set in amazing grounds, beautiful masion houses or old building, rooms clean and very modern, with as much tea, coffee, hot choc, cappicino's biscuits and fruit as you can eat, and alot with swimming pools and gym, sauna, steam room etc..... im sure there are diff rooms, i know we've stayed in 3 so far, all of which were diff in their own ways, some standard, some classic and a few premium, and friends aswell, think some people just like to moan and want something for nothing !!!!! and if you dont want to miss out then get the deals quick, no point moaning about no £10 rooms left after the deal has been out for days, of course they will go quick, but its not De Vere's fault :-P
