Great price, even with free shipping from overclockers (for myself since I'm a loyal member) it came to £10 more. These 5870's are becoming really affordable now. Heat added.

Use your noggin, not everyone has free shipping with OCUK. For those of us that do, happy times :P

Hot! I'd rather deal with Ebuyer than OCuk personally...

£9 delivery for yours, making it more expensive. And as someone else said, would much rather deal with Ebuyer if I had any problems (have dealt with OCUK before, NOT fun...).

Good price thnx op. def. hot - but with it being so close to the release of the Radeon 69.. cards and 570 from Nvidia and the possiblity or further price cuts across their current cards I'm going to hold fire on splashing out just this minute.
#8
well, is actually worth it even so they used to be £300+??
series 6000 is out and the6870 does cost about the same. 6870 will go down for sure and even so is slightly less power full than the 5870, it is got new 3d technology and on the top of that, is performing a lot better in crossfire.

Great price, paid more for a 5850 not long ago. Heat added!

I will never deal with OCUK again either, their support is disgusting and they will rip you off.

If you have the original PSU in it (which was 375w), then no.
Should have a 500w PSU minimum for this card (or a little lower if a very good PSU).

Why?

The 6950 is going to be around £270+, and the 6970 at £360+

With a £100 gap between the 6870 and 6950, why would the 6870 drop in price?

because it usually does and i do not think that the newer cards are going to be that expensive. on the launch day, the sapphire 6870 was £179 with ebuyer if i am not wrong and that will be the tipical price or less after the newer cards will come out. Do not forget that it is christmas time now and they will not drop the price just right now, they are selling like cakes. With the older one is different. You will see the 5970 dropping at £300 level very soon. People does not even buy them at £300 for a decent second hand, just right now on ebay.

wow ! I need to stop looking at this site ,depressed now ! lol, good price.

I think they have brought the prices down recently more in response to Nvidia (GTX470 in this case, GTX460 in other cases like the 5850's that have been on here recently) than anything.

Its a good buy and would choose this over Overclockers any day of the week they are such a bad company when things go wrong, has no one noticed that this is the Black edition which means a bit more power.

I agree, the deal you found is a better one (I've added heat by the way :) ). But in all fairness, when I posted the above deal, OcUK weren't showing a 5870 for under £200 because I checked.

Either way, 5870's in this price range is good news for us consumers (and bank managers :) ).

I like the deal, yes, but my deal has an ocuk warranty+ 2 games for 188 instead of an xfx warranty, which isn't very good

Well I ordered last night and it came today. It's only faulty! While playing DIRT2, after a minute it's goes to a screen that is a sandy colur with bands in it. Apparently this is a common fault with these 5800's, the GSOD or something...

I then put my 5850 back in, did all the drivers again and that ran fine, no crashes, no weird screens with bands in it. Ebuyer were on the ball though, courier coming picking up on Monday and a replacement sent within the same week.

I just hope the new one isn't faulty either!
