LOL, terrible cash-in with baggie/nu-rave revival dying off.

Still, some classics on it for the 5 people in the world who don't have them already.

Worth the 3 quid alone for 'Papua New Guinea' and 'The Only One I Know'. Gotta be good to keep in the car at least. Voted hot. Cheers:thumbsup:

Just needed tracks by altern8 and Praga Khan for the full set of classic chessy quaver music.
Not knocking it though , great deal !

#12
the la s there she goes on a compilation makes a change:p

There is some good tunes on there if you haven't already got them, 3 quid is a bargain..but what I don't get is the Manchester connection with half of the bands!....some of the releases might have been around the time that baggy and "madchester" was happening, but a LOT of bands there not even remotely connected with manchester, The Charlatans, The Cure, Orbital etc......

I was going to say, some good songs on there and is an okay price but surely everyone has these songs? And anyone who doesn't probably won't appreciate being given it for Christmas.

We head down the Mall en route to Bayswater. 'D'ya wanna go an' see the Queen?' jokes Bez to Monica, as we pass Buckingham Palace. 'Jackie was on about her in the house. When she got ****** off she'd say, "I'm getting out of here and gonna go and see the Queen." She reckoned she knew her.'
#17
Is that from that "One Dream" track at the end? Never heard of it...

Nu-rave isn't a new thing (it is finally dying off (thankfully)). it has been around for over 2 years.

Dirty kids and their revivals - they should buy this and listen to the originals.. =]

Tim Burgess was born in Salford so i would say there was a 'remote' connection with Manchester.

Although the name The Charlatans was used when original members of the band were located in the West Midlands, many sources state that they formed in Northwich, Cheshire. [1] This is because the band relocated to the home town of new lead singer Tim Burgess (who lived in Northwich) before the release of The Charlatans' debut single "Indian Rope" in 1990 on the band's own Dead Dead Good Records label. This means that, based on the definition of the hometown used by Guinness World Records, the band formed in Northwich and consequently Northwich is recorded as their home town in "Guinness World Records: British Hit Singles and Albums."

The Cure are from Crawley.

Must be Manchester's twin town:p

Tim Burgess (born Timothy Allan Burgess, May 30, 1967, Salford, England) is the lead singer of British rock/indie act The Charlatans. Despite being born in Salford he lived in Northwich, Cheshire in 1989 when he joined The Charlatans and Northwich is seen as both his hometown and the where The Charlatans formed.
