Wow, you've rekindled some very fond childhood memories, and for that you deserve heat!

Years ago - probably when I was about 12 or 13, we were on a weekend holiday in Berwick Upon Tweed. We've been probably 3 times to date and each time we go we visit Lindisfarne (aka, Holy Island) which is an absolutely beautiful place. And the fact you can only get to it when the tide goes out, for a child anyway, makes it an almost magical place. I vividly remember the crab sandwiches and homemade ice cream, but moreso.... FIMO models! There was a small shop that just dealt with crafts and they were very talented with this FIMO clay. I still have one of the models somewhere, but I also spent a good chunk of my holiday pocket money buying the clay to make my own.

If memory serves correct, back then it was about £0.75 per 'block' of clay and there were so many colours including a glow in the dark one! Wow, all these memories from something as simple as coloured clay. I'm feeling all nostalgic now... think i'll get a pack for old times sake.

PS. It was so long ago so my memory is hazy at best... But once opened I don't believe the clay lasts very long... from what I remember it did dry up very hard after about 5-7 days even when wrapped and stored in a food container.

Can u make a diy fleshlight from this?
(im asking for a friend)

lol kaiser... not unless you want your general to get very bloody very quickly - you'll end up with cuts, rash... or maybe it would rip the skin off!

And this, umm... "friend" doesn't exist, right? :-D

no he does exist honestly he lives at the bottom of my garden

FIMO's great but be sure to wear gloves when working with it and don't overcook it because firstly, it can stain, secondly, it's not healthy for you - the fumes when over cooking it are poisonous and oils left over from handling it shouldn't be left on the skin.

Price just gone down again by 11p. Bit concerned about Stanto's comment - surely these things have to meet some sort of H&S standard especially if a product for children?...... Where did you learn these frightening facts?

Unless they are manufactured differently from about 10+ years back, when I made models I really do not remember any stains nor oils from the finished product.
