There are not many 2.5", 500GB external drives about. This looks like a good price.
Hot from me
Might wanna mention in the title that it's 2.5". Otherwise people will just assume it's an expensive 3.5".

Anyone know what HDD is actually in it? 5400rpm or 4200rpm?

If it's 5400 then this is a great price, and you could remove the drive and put it in your laptop if you are that way inclined...

Thanks done!

In stock @ Manchester, Birmingham & Newcastle!
Out of stock Coventry, Leics, Leic st George

PC World annoy me, this doesn't look cheap enough to be an "end of line" clearance, so why can't I order one, and then they send one out from their warehouse to the store of my choice, and I collect after 3 days??

Fair enough I expect to struggle to find the clearance bargains listed on here (as they only have 5 for the whole country to start with, LOL), but everyday stock from a big PC supplier?

Voted hot (on price)
in case you're planning on replacing the drive in your laptop be aware that the drive itself in these is quite thick it doesn't fit into my Dell m1530 ...... I tried
Available in Yeovil
hmm could put this in my ps3

it doesn't fit already tried
Freecom sell them for £99.99.

These are nice drives and this is a good price. UK support too.
I bought a 500GB Lacie portable drive for £73.28 from memorybits in October 08, need another one now.

I wonder if the pen comes with it, it doesn't say it doesn't, I might have to insist on the pen lol.

None in Bedford or the surrounding area up to 40 odd miles away, just as well cos it saved me £77.99 lol

400GB is available for delivery for 79.96 http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0772275607.1234300665@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccladeghfglikfcflgceggdhhmdgml.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=737571&category_oid=-32891

Not bothered at all now, only 4200RPM, slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.
Seems to be back to £99.99
Maybe a pricing error? not such a hot deal at 99.99, pleased I managed to bag one @ 77!
Still "out of stock" in all my nearest stores, even at £99. Perhaps they just do not want any business in this "credit crunch"??

No use to me anyway, I was looking at putting in a PS3. I hought all 2.5" 5400rpm drives were compatible???
