Let's see if I understand this. By offloading the TCP stack from my dual CPU clocked at 2.4GHz, onlo a little card clocked at 333MHz the plan is to save some of the 750 microseconds it takes for packets to be transmitted from my box to my router?
I think I'll give this a miss if it'a all the same.

I don't see the point of this card at any price - I haven't seen any reviews that clearly show a benefit for this kind of network card.

SOME REVIEW HERE :http://www.legitreviews.com/article/478/1/
#4
I know the benefits are slight but at £36 you cant moan much
#5
It's questionable whether there is any benefit - you are unlikely to notice any difference if playing games online - it doesn't matter how quick your client is at processing your network traffic if the latency of the server you are connected to is high.

Unless this card somehow manages to force the traffic to go faster than the speed of light :)

With respect I doubt it's aimed at people with low-end hardware like that - it's more like Razor peripherals which are clearly aimed at people who think price=performance and if it gives even 0.000001% inprovement there's a market for it!

In fact given the quality of some Razor older mice you don't even need the improvement for some people ;)

Oh the benefits are mush less than slight.
from the review (URL above) :we also had a few other people try out the gaming system with and without the card installed and not one person correctly guessed when the Killer K1 was installed in the test systemSp, when comparing 2 systems, the one people thought was faster was the one WITHOUT this card in.
Sounds like it's having exactly the opposite effect, so maybe the suppliers should PAY people to use it, since it seems to slow the machines down.

Yet again, people failing to understand the concept of HotUKDeals. If any of the morons that voted cold can find this product cheaper, would they care to point out where?

Thought not. Voted hot for price.
#11
yey a supporter of my rubbish product lol
#12
An equivalent product (i.e. a network card) that does the SAME job is a couple of pounds so COLD.
#13
this one has killer in the name?
#14
No, an equivalent network card does not do the same job as this.

This card has an onboard USB slot that in theory lets you load a Linux OS (I accept it is restricted out of the box, but I'm sure someone has found a way to hack it).

In addition, if you pay an additional fee to Killer ($30 I think), you can use their torrent software, which gives you full control of torrents on a hardware level, rather than software.

Yep perfectly comparable. This deal is for a nic made for gaming. The one I posted will do the same thing...
