AVForums are full of vendors. I've long since taken alot of "advice" with a pinch of salt from there.
I have a Panasonic, Hitachi and an LG 42 inch screens in my life, and by far my favourite is my LG.
Seems the best made, picture is cracking. Can't fault it.

dont you have to renew your membership every year at added expense to maintain the warranty? sounds like a complete rip off to me.

Further 2% back through quidco too! :-)

Fair point I guess its each to their own however just googled this tv for other reviews and several have come back with the same issue which is un-natural colours when the image is dark and bad blacks too, so for now i'll leave it.

I wouldn't get an LG HDTV now if I were you. The newer models will have DivX decoding, I'd wait

Not according to reports. The ED website wording is a little ambiguous on the subject, but when one of the HotUKDeals last week for a Sony KDL-40d3500 with stand & DVD recorder for sub £700 was discussed one of the participants here spoke to ED and got a clear statement from them that you do NOT have to remain a member and the 3 year warranty (ie extra 2 over makers for £30) is issued once and not 'renewed' each year.

Obviously worth checking that for yourself if tempted, but dont be put off by the suspicion as it is meant to be untrue.

theres a lg 1080p in tesco for 599.....
#21
LG is good kit. Heat!

This tv is a year old, and doesn't seem to get great reviews.

However, as with all expensive tvs from the last year or so, it will probably be great for anyone who doesn't study the quality of tvs too closely - only real cinemaphiles are likely to be able to see the problems without tvs lines up along side each other.

Me? Im waiting for an unreal offer on one of the pictureframe toshibas (either the new one or an unreal offer on the old one)

At 37 inches the improvement 1080p makes is negligible. This deal is on a 42inch so not like for like.
