I doing really know how you can call something a good deal when it is an unknown brand name

The most important thing about buying a product is it's brand name

Voted cold

Poor brand, i guess no freeview. Better off buying a cheap pvr than wasting money on one of these things

Not bad for those that want to archive from VHS.

Even brand name DVD recorders were hopelessly unreliable. I had a Tosh and a Phillips and they were both useless.
This will need to be plugged in to a Freeview box, with all the hassle od having to set the box and the recorder. Far cheaper and easier to just buy a PVR.
DVD recorders are now as obsolete as a VCR.

I disagree, although they are not as useful these days as PVRs for recording tv programs, they are extremely useful for archiving from old VHS anything that has not got a DVD release, as well as archiving any old family camcorder footage. Unless of course you have a PC with a TV Card and dvd burner, which costs considerably more than this.

Totally agree with cicobuff .PVR ok but absolutely no archiving facility.I love my old hard drive/dvd recorder cost my about £50 on ebay and it was that really expensive brand 'Wharfdale' lol!!!

but.................................this Mikomi (argos own brand) model gets terrible reviews i'm afraid
