Oh and don't forget £15 quidco but needs to be activated and topped up with £10 to qualify for the quidco!
#2
nice one, cool phone :o)
#3
dnt like mine, im glad to get rid of it. The delay on the camera is so annoying, u cant take spontaneous snaps.. and the touch screen calibration is way off over time, however you reset it.
Annoying when your trying to text and u hit wrong keys when your really not! lol

Strange as still shows in stock. It took my order and it says in progress so I hope they are actually in stock too as it's a pressie!

I was thinking of this or the cookie. Ended up getting the cookie as cheapest viewty I found was £20 more plus buying a cookie gives you £15 cashback from topcashback.
But now this price is better, I may cancel the order from carphone warehouse.

Great phone, had one for 12 months now & love it. Hot!
#10
Just ordered one. I remember when these came out as I was looking for one last February - they were £250 - £299 and they were out of stock everywhere. So £97 with £15 cashback seems like a sweet deal for a touch screen phone.
#11
Just ordered mine, being delivered Tuesday! So pleased, its my christmas present from hubby:santa::gift:
#12
bought one!

and sent my old phone to envirophone!

Are these easy to unlock? Great deal BTW!

Yes very easy to unlock, takes a couple of secs and you can use the cable that comes with the phone. As it is from O2 it may already work on all networks.

Not all of them are easy, the earlier ones were but mine couldn't be unlocked with the methods I found on http://www.mygreatphone.com/

Very misleading information !!!

Damn, looks like the cashback on quidco dropped at midnight :( - now 3.5% on payg phones, not £15.
#19
Is there anyway to get this unlocked onto Virgin? Thanks in advance =]

a truly horrible phone.I should know ive got one

to clarify, the camera is 5mp but takes worse pics than my old 2mp sony.using the touchsreen is like try to carve your initials in a tree with a six inch nail.
if you phone a business who ask you to type a number in forget it.propriety usb.using the wheel on the camera is impossible, but the worst bit of all is that the sd slot is under the battery.crazy!!

I bought mine Tesco branded from a deal on here a while back for £125 I think it was. There are a HUGE number of flaws :x

The whole thing grinds to a halt as you add more files to the SD card.

There's huge lag on the camera, it literally judders about as you move around (in still mode)

The browser is rubbish! Under all other areas of the phone you have the option of having a fullscreen keyboard except for the built in browser and java apps. Typing in various characters using numerical keys is bad enough without having to use a a touch screen version. On the subject of the keyboard who thought it would be a good idea to put some of the most common symbols 2 pages away from the main key layout?
To make this clearer, on the fullscreen keybaord I have all of my letters and only 4 symbols ".,?!" so how do I get a "-" ? Well I press the symbols button then page across then click the "-" then press the symbols button again.. twice before i'm brought back to the letters.

The camera can be a bit hit and miss, sometimes I think it takes great photos and others (especially low light conditions) no matter what I do it just doesn't want to play.

As mentioned phoning anything that requires any key presses (automated lines) is a real pain. After every few seconds the screen locks so each time you have to unlock it before entering your key press.

Signal is noticably worse than my old K750i on a recent journey in Wales I noticed it barely had any signal at all along a 15 mile stretch where as the old phone would have maintained at the very least a weak signal.

Oh and back to the camera.. video first. The much hyped 120fps, pretty cool actually. Bit of a shame that the phone seems to have no sense at all. If you switch from 120fps back to standard it will retain the quality settings of the 120fps video i.e half the resolution and low quality. The still camera is much of the same, switch to panoramic mode (or one of the other options) and then back to standard mode and you are left with the settings all on low quality and at 1MP. The same happens when you switch between the rear facing and front facing camera, constant need to reapply the settings YET AGAIN.

The touch screen is pretty poor, don't expect iPhone quality here. Sometimes I see the screen distort before it even registers a button press.

Needless to say I won't be buying an LG again..

As for this deal, good price compared to when I was looking. I think Carphone Warehouse had the best deal at about £180 on O2 (hence buying the cheaper Tesco one)
It is cheap for a reason however!

You can use the onscreen keyboard with the browser you just have to switch the browser to portrait mode.

Me and my brother have both got viewtys, both back last march time

He doesnt like his, just because he is used to standard phones so cant get used to texting on a touch screen, he doesn't like not having the feel of a real button.

Me on the other hand (I have a silver version) really like it, I have no issues with the camera, and even use it over my 10mp digital most of the time - some times settings need to be adjusted slightly to get a decent enough image but I find once this is done it is good

There is a delay in shutter speed, isnt an issue for me but maybe try using a continuous shooting mode could work if your capturing a moving subject ( you would at least have a few pictures to choose from)

Mine is a bit sluggish, but with 400 pics on it and 7 tv episodes as well as some random videos, it could be expected - im sure deleting some of this would sort it

I find the touch screen responsive and can churn out texts on this thing, which didnt prove to be a good thing before upgrading to unlimited texts  At first I could only do it with the stylus, but can now just do it with my finger nails although this does some times need a quick double press to respond to my clicks.

What I have found to be annoying is the chrome effect on mine is peeling, and has been for some time, leaving a cheap white plastic (possibly my fault for not using a case, but still ! ), battery will usually only last me 2 days and it isnt predictable (it says 4 bars but as soon as it goes down to 3 I usually only have a few hours left) and LG phoned me 1 afternoon from some asian call centre, I started off being nice and after 10 minutes of trying to explain the same thing over and over to no luck, hung up and kept getting phone calls all afternoon - was not impressed.

Despite it's flaws I think it is a great phone, compared to the sony **** I have had I dont have regrets going for this phone, and am even contemplating another LG when it comes to upgrade time

Merry christmas everyone !

Ordered one of these last night , the shutter speed can't be any worse than the one on my K800i :giggle:

hey guys for those who ordered late last night like me, you might want to give o2 a call because ive just called to check up on mine and theyre saying its out of stock. and they will send out 'When/If' they get any stock.

i even told them that its still saying it in stock on the website, but they said it is defo out of stock. might want to also checked whether the payment has gone through or not because they could be keeping that £100 for a quite a long time (till they get more in stock) and god knows when that would be???

was told to submit query via email on the website, and guess what............it doesnt work.

tried firefox, IE and even Opera browsers, so its definetly something up with their website, probably too many people hacked off about not getting good CS lol

I managed to get one a few days ago, when I first mentioned it :) came with older firmware so unlocked and debranded straight away :)

Placed order on Saturday and was showing as in stock. No communication received by Monday so rang them up (20 min call at national rate - great). They said it was out of stock even though the order on the website is showing as "in progress". Poor show so far from O2. And guess what they said - this is a discontinued phone and they won't be getting any more in stock. They tried to sell me a reconditioned phone so I cancelled the order. My advice is to wait for the sales. This posting is soooo expired. You have been warned.

Why should it be expected? You don't see anything else grinding to a halt by adding files to an external drive!
It never made any difference to my K750i and it shouldn't, it's as if the phone is trying to cache all of the external files 100% of the time (which it doesn't seem to do very well as they take FAR too long to load)
It is a shame really because I think the hardware is pretty good, it looks pretty and the camera CAN be good but the software and basic OS programming is just terrible. LG quickly dropped it and moved onto new phones despite trying to have this competing against the iPhone (judging by the huge number of adverts at the time)

:whistling: doh

Reminds me though why on earth did the rear slider change from scrolling up and down menus to zooming in the browser? Scrolling seems far more useful and I constantly zoom by accident as you get used to scrollign with it for EVERY other area of the phone. At least the touch screen scroll gestures seem to work well enough.

My order still shows as in progress with no emails. I have sent an email to them this morning but nothing returned as yet.

Just been to an O2 shop and there are offer booklets that have it at same price and on shelf at same price. No idea if any stock though as did not ask. Really annoying if they have taken payment too!
#34
It has expired now as removed from the website!
#35
They took payment and the provisional Quidco was allocated too (obviously subject to activating it which I won't be doing as the order was cancelled). My refund will be given within a week they said. Poor show from O2 on this offer.
#36
Quidco never showed for me, still at processing stage, no email and no reply to my email. Your right very bad customer service from them. I doubt I will get mine either so will try the store tomorrow. The payment has just taken me overdrawn too so no doubt it will be a while before it comes back my way. They should not take payment unless they have stock, it is just wrong.:x

Just go an email a couple of hours ago saying that the order was passed on to the warehouse .

You're lucky! I ordered before then and I've not long rung them to be told they are out of stock and probably won't be in again until after christmas! So, I cancelled it. I've got to wait 7-10 working days for my account to credited.
