Great find... This TV is superb..
heat and rep added.
bump ...

One of the best 42" plasmas made for £705 incl Quidco .... never seen this TV get a low rating on any site.
Thanks for the heads up...

Been waitin for this tv to fall below the £750 mark. Likewise...i've not heard a bad review about this tv to date
1080 or 720 dpi?
voted hot as top price for top TV.
1080 or 720 dpi?

I believe it to be 1080i
Can't find it cheaper. Mate has the 37". Very nice plasma. :)
Been waiting for a good deal on this tv since i missed the Dixons bank holiday offer of £850 including cinema system (less vouchers and quidco)

But i have had it confirmed by my local independent retailer that panasonic will be doing a free 5 year warranty again during October. (they did in June)

Only available through selected retailers (eg independeants and not comet/currys)

I was offered it for £828 from my independent so thats about £123 extra for 4 years warranty.

Do you think its worth it??

Definately a highly rated TV - I want to buy it at the lowest price possible before a new model replaces it, but knowing exactly when that will be is impossible to predict.
Believe you can buy an extra 4yrs cover through normal insurance companies for around £150-£200 ... or you takes the risk and put the money towards a new system in 5 yrs.

It is "only" 720p but based upon what I've read it all comes down to viewing distance and if you would actually notice any difference from full 1080p ... probably not for a non-geek ;)
I believe it to be 1080i

It's 1080p.

This TV is pretty darn good.. got it for £900 from a local store (wanted it soon), even though it was £800 on RicherSounds, but this is an awesome price indeed.
it can handle 1080p but doesn't mean its a 1080p panel...

its only a 720p panel

but great price
I didn't say it did display 1080p, it just accepts it.

It's not a 720p panel either. Nice one trying to correct me! :p
To be honest, this is a great price!

However - if Richard Sounds are doing it for £800, I would get John Lewis to price match as you get the 5 year warranty then. And I reckon a 5 year JL Warranty is worth £95!

I also found the panel on its own (for wall mounting) at Empire Direct. Again, if you can get JL to price match that, you have got yourself a bargain.

Voted this Hot though, I paid £1300 for my PX60 last year, and that was down from £1750 with a price match, so just shows how much cheaper Plasma's are now!
when people talk about the capabilities of a panel they normally quote its native res not what it can accept !

so I'll call my Plasma is 1080i - woot ! ??:whistling:

(its only a 480p panel ! lol)

these Panasonics are great - but from what I hear not as good as the old PWD6-7-8 series :)

Cracking deal.

As far as res goes, it's 1024 x 768 - rectangular pixels, you see.
Looks like Currys spotted the error .... now back up to £899.99 :(
