Has anyone had one of these type of things, are they accurate????

The Gadget Show did a review of them a week or two ago. The Acctim was pretty accurate when comparing it to actual met office readings. The others weren't too accurate iirc.

Very accurate, I have a similar Oregon Jumbo clock, bought for £19.99 from TKmaxx 2 years ago. It even adjusts automatically when the clock go forward and backward for start and end of british summertime.
I am sure they are currently selling the Philips brand one at TKmaxx but can't remember the price.

I've got a number of weather stations including this Philips. It's about 70% accurate. One thing to note is that every time it takes a barometric reading (every 10 - 15 minutes), it lights up. This is quite bright, especially at night, so I've had to cover the top left corner with some cardboard as you can't stop it doing it. If you're half awake at 3 in the morning it can look like a scene from Close Encounters... :)

Thompson Discount Electricals do them in Worcester area for £14.99 without the external thermometer.

The ALDI one is better loads more stuff (tides sunrise and sun set times phase of the moon ) on it and lower price. It only comes round once a year in their stores and you have to be very quick on the day to get one but worth the efffort!
