Looks like a good price to me for a budget camera, certainly a lot better than the cheapo brands you see in the supermarkets. Some reviews seem to suggest the battery life is poor, but I suspect that they havn't invested in some decent rechargeables. If you buy this, make sure that you do!

Voted Hot, good find!

Thanks OP, I just MSN'd it to my cousin and he bought it.:)

I had SAMSUNG once. The quality is **** truly speaking, and the batteries does not stand even for a 4 hours.

I had a freebie with the old samsung deal.
They are not good at all IMO. Battery life is indeed poor, picture quality is not much better, and build quality is also cheap. Spending £20 on rechargeables makes this £60...and you can get some decent Sonys etc for not much more nowadays.
Personally, its more money wasted than money saved IMO.
If you want it for ebay pics, then ok..but it will kill your batteries and cost a lot to run.

If you want it for family pics..remember that these pics will be treasured for your lifetime, so dont scrimp too much. A few years ago the cheapy makes were over £100, and now you can get a stunning camera for under £100 easily.

TBH, I don't really agree - I have the model up from this and it's a fantastic camera. Solid, good battery life, easy to use menus, good sized LCD, the macro mode is great for the holiday/special event snapper like myself, and I'm really pleased with it. If you don't have a camera, or want to upgrade, at this price you'd be daft not to.

Edit: I'm a 'photo album' type photographer, and I'm overjoyed with the quality of pictures I've had printed from this camera. If anyone wants to see examples, let me know and I'll post a few.

Standard price for an ugly outdated camera.

Don't care what the 'was' price was ... especially when you can get a decent modern looking camera for £80.

I don't think that's a valid opinion seeing as you have the "model up".

this is a great little camera for kids. My 7 yr old got one for Christmas and he loves it. It's really easy to use, has an anti shake mode which means he almost never ends up with blurry pics and is quite tough too, he dropped his down the stairs and it still works fine.

I do agree with the comments about battery life though, we bought rechargeable in the end because it was costing us a fortune in batteries and they last a decent length of time.

we have the s600 and is not that impressed with it. Our original one had to go back to samsung to be fixed after 3 months. The quality is ok but after going from a fuji camera we noticed the difference.

Because the 39.99 price was a bargain. The previous price at play.com was probably +60 or 70 so 53.99 for a second hand one seems (slightly) more reasonable.
