I don't recall mentioning the EU.
Being anti-EU as far as I am concerned isn't being racist. I find it very interesting that you should make that connection however.
Good to know. The connection is made quite consistently (and wrongly) by those who suggest the Express is peddling "hate". The Express is well know for its editorial stance against open borders and membership of the EU. Perhaps you could explain to us how buying the Express funds "hate"?
no matter where you go on the internet, there's always an ignorant person hahaha :D

Yes, because anyone who doesn't agree with open borders and membership of the European Union is automatically hateful.

why does anyone pay anything for yesterday's news printed?
I'm tempted, but it depends what the headline is -

Hottest summer ever / coldest summer ever
Pensions
Statins
Diabetes
Immigrants
Everybody wants to leave the EU (cos we asked 5 people who want to leave the EU)

Or

Hotter summers if we leave the EU and stop those nasty immigrants coming over here and stealing our Statins, Diabetes, and of course our Pensions :p

Yes - it explains (in a not-at-all xenophobic dramatisation) how she was murdered by a group of asylum seekers and other assorted immigrants (apparently the first step in a concerted plot to take over Britain)... ;)

They were on the shelves last night when I went in for one. I went back today to get another but they had vanished off of the shelves. I asked to speak to the manager only I left the store 2 mins before it shut last night and knew they had 6 or 7 left. I said this and that I was the first customer in the store today so where are they and that's when I was told they were behind the tills now. They aren't on show so not sure if this was a crafty move on their part.
Disgraceful! was you able to obtain one from under the counter?
Yes they gave me one

poster elsewhere says there are vouchers for 4 weeks of £5 off £30 by the tills in store
Looking at the front page of the paper, which says free DVD, that's a con as not only do you pay for the paper but you have to pay postage for delivery of the DVD, which I am sure is more than £2. Might as well go and buy one.

If you buy the paper for the Lidl voucher, of course its only worth £4.15 after taking the price of the paper off. Last time, Lidl included the voucher in their leaflet, so you did not have to buy a paper, and it was a £30 spend, not £40. If Lidl cares so much about its customers, they could do better by repeating that exercise instead of putting vouchers in the more expensive weekend newspapers which a lot of people don't want to read.

Having said that, I prefer Lidl to Aldi as I like their product range, and I am a fan of Lidl, who do sell herbs and spices and a wide variety of cheeses, contrary to one of the liars who claimed otherwise on here. Both of them have a more limited range of products which is one way they are profitable and very competitive and why they are taking business away from the big 4 supermarkets.

Aww, sorry, you've missed these now:( poster jimmybo posted about the Lidl voucher Saturday morning, that's in selected Saturday's papers, so you would've needed to get one then. The £5 is off a £40 spend. Have seen on here that some people are selling the vouchers on eBay, but tbh, unless there's something you desperately need, you could wait- as Lidl seem to do the vouchers once a month? May not be set in stone tho' as Aldi have recently stopped doing their similar offer. Tbh, my only motivation in buying the papers was the Lidl vouchers. I actually bought mine in the Lidl store, as part of my £40 shop ( tip thanks to backinstock) Lidl don't sell the Sun, I wouldn't buy the Sun anyway, but I believe it's a bit cheaper. I bought the Daily Express as it's 5p cheaper than the Daily Mail. As I had no intention of reading, it didn't matter to me that if bought x2 of same newspaper, and it was just chance that I checked where the voucher for the ice creams was redeemable. From memory, I thought these type of vouchers were redeemable at shops that are nowhere near me, so, just a stroke of luck that I wanted to make others aware of. Hope that explains?:)

Enjoy Your Favourite Paper for Less with Daily Express Discounts

The Daily Express started life in 1900, when it was introduced as a quality broadsheet by publisher Sir Arthur Pearson. However, the paper’s golden age began when it was sold to Canadian newspaper mogul Lord Beaverbrook, in 1916. Soon, the Express was selling millions of copies every day (and pioneering ideas like the daily crossword puzzle in the process).

By 1949, circulation had soared to around 4 million copies per day, and the Express continued to set the trend for national papers. It was one of the first papers to offer colour cartoons (including Rupert the Bear), and continued to attract a huge readership.

However, the newspaper needed to reinvent itself in the 70s and 80s, under pressure from the Sun and the Daily Mail. It reduced its size to tabloid format, seeing reader numbers boom again. Bought by magazine publisher Richard Desmond in 2000, the Express now has a huge online presence, as well as almost half a million print readers.

Where to Buy Express Products

The Express can be purchased from almost any newsagent, anywhere in the UK, an you can also read it online at www.express.co.uk.

What Readers Will Find at Express.co.uk

As you’d expect from a paper that has set trends for its entire existence, the Express has an easy to navigate website which delivers plenty of content to visitors. Sections include:

  • News – Including national and international breaking news stories, as well as special sections for science, politics, nature, royal affairs, weather, weird happenings, history and obituaries. There’s also an individual news section for Scottish readers.
  • Sports – Includes in depth coverage of Premier League football, cricket, tennis, golf, horse racing, boxing, UFC, F1, rugby and plenty of other sports.
  • Showbiz & TV – A popular section featuring TV listings, reviews and up to the minute celebrity news.
  • Comment – Includes pieces by the Express’ comment team, including leaders, individual columnists and “beachcomber”, the daily comment diary.
  • Finance – Features news from the business world as well as personal finance articles and a section dedicated to retirees.
  • Travel – Includes sections on cruises, activity holidays, beach holidays, city breaks, short breaks and travel news.
  • Entertainment – Includes video games, films, theatre, books, music and puzzles.
  • Life & Style – Includes health, cars, gardening, life, fashion, food, diets, competitions, technology, property news, weekend features and regular “top 10 facts2 articles.
  • Horoscopes – The Express publishes a daily horoscope, which is one of the paper’s most popular sections.
  • Weather – Includes forecasts for every part of the UK and various international locations.
  • Paper archive – Includes access to the “Express Archive”, a digital resource that includes articles dating back to 1900.

As well as news and articles, the Express also offers plenty of games and competitions for readers to try. Options include crosswords, quizzes, bingo and “Jackpot millions”, an online lottery game.

There’s also a section called the Express Shop, which delivers a huge range of reader offers, usually at prices well below high street retailers.

The Top 10 Brands on Offer at the Express Shop

The Express Shop functions just like a normal online retailer, and features plenty of major names. Brands on offer include:

Sales at the Express

The Express Store is the place to go for special reader offers, with a huge range of products (that is constantly changing), each one discounted for Express readers to purchase. There’s also a section called Daily Express Select, which features a smaller selection of rotating deals, focusing on health and fashion products.

If you’d like to purchase a cut-price subscription to the Express, the place to look is the HotUKDeals Express listings, where all of the paper’s deals are featured as soon as they become available.

The Daily Express Shop and Select store accept the following payment methods: VISA, Mastercard, VISA Debit and Maestro. Each payment is protected by the Thawte security system, so there should be no theft of your personal data.

Shipping Options from the Express Shop

The Express mobile or tablet edition can be delivered as a daily download that is automatically sent to your device, so no shipping is involved. Alternatively, you can arrange with your local newsagent to purchase a print copy, and each shop will have their own delivery options and payment methods.

If you are ordering from the Daily Express Shop, the paper states that suppliers will try to deliver all items within 14 working days of your order being placed (you should be notified if there is going to be a delay to this schedule).

The Express Shop’s Returns Policy

Any items bought from the Express Shop can be cancelled within seven days of receipt, providing they have not been opened. However, customers don’t deal directly with the Express’ customer service team. Instead, you’ll need to contact the supplier who provided the product.

When you have contacted the supplier, you then have 30 days to send the item(s) back to the supplier, before the cancellation becomes void, which should be plenty of time to sort out postage arrangements.
