Just finished a week mountain biking at 7Stanes in Scotland and decided I needed to upgrade my front forks.

Merlin cycles have a lot of top end bike bits for a good price and with free postage + an extra 10% off at the checkout for Rock Shox forks, sub £250 is the best price I could find for this years Reba SL, this is well over £300 in all other shops.

Next best Chain reaction cycles £320 or £348 at Wiggle
For those of you who need a national chain to compare prices, Halfords only have the Reba Race for £449 (£278.96 at Merlin)

What did you get? I need a new one 'cos the Gary Fisher Wingra I got (thanks to HUKD) in April for £150 got nicked (the insurers values it at £500 which leaves me £250 after they take the XS off).

Got a great bike in Decathlon, its there own built bike (so no middle man) the same type of bike in Halfords would set ya back around 400, if you go have a look at the Rockrider, just did a 10 mile ride on one with no probs

Another vote for the Rockrider from Decathlon. I got mine a couple of months ago and I'm no mountain bike geek but I did loads of research and I don't think you can do much better for £200.00.

If you're after a whole new bike and not a brand snob & can get 40% off via bike to work scheme (http://www.cyclescheme.co.uk/) Halfords do very good prices. Excellent deals if you are new to MTB or just a fair weather off-roader and don't need the best of the best.

Had a look at the Halfords sub 300 pound bikes, they come nowhere near the build quality from Decathlon (Rockrider)
