As you might be aware Kiddicare stores are closing down!
Shame really was getting used to a visit there.
Anyway my local store Merry Hill had a extra 15% of already reduced sale prices as they start clearing out stock. Some of these reductions are massive.
Worth a visit if you are expecting a new addition to your family or even if you have grand children.
Meant to add they will still be online, but no more stores!

Think that although it is always great to get a bargain, there are alot of people losing their jobs. I for one feel for the staff !

Well done Morrisons. What a joke.

Shame - used to visit the original small store in Werrington before they moved to their current large warehouse!

Got some great bargains back then - seems Morrisons have broken what was a successful business

I agree . . . . it's a great shame that Kiddicare is closing. It's a great example of how a store should be run.
We discovered them last year when my wife gave birth to our little girl.

Found the range excellent, the prices competitive, the staff well trained and helpful.
Store was spacious with baby changing, cafe and toilets.

One great example: My wife wanted a nursing pillow. So we vistited the store on a Sunday. Consulted a member of staff who showed her what was in store. My wife didnt like the items, Think it because of price or look/shape. Dunno. Anyhow, staff member took her to a touch screen ordering point where there were a few more choices. She like one and ordered it there and then on the machine. It arrived the following morning. Bare in mind this was a Sunday. That's simply excellent.

Obviously behind the scenes, things were not going great at Kiddicare.

The first store was in the Ortons!, then they moved to Werrington, then moved to the bigger premises in Werrington, then final the warehouse in Hampton, having three kids and spending lots there gives me the insider knowledge!!!

What a shame, a fantastic business, the extra new stores I thought was a great idea!, but looks like some things you cannot replicated.!!

Liquidation is in the air, thought there was something up when staff never even asked me if I needed help in over 30 mins of me standing there with my pregnant partner a few weeks back. Adverts on radio where something to worry about as it said sale apart from Peterborough. It means they will be selling it off or going into administration. Beware!

The plot where Kiddicare is on Purley Way Croydon had a Best Buy on it previously. Both backed by large parent companies. Both lasted barely 5 minutes in retail terms. A shame.
#25
That's really sad to hear :-( x

I remember the Peterborough store from old it was pretty small, I loved it there, with three kids my eldest 15, the Peterborough store is fantastic now, and it's such a shame to hear they are closing stores.

It is true they are closing all stores bar Peterborough n will remain online. Nottingham is closing in nov.
I don't think it will be late as November the nottingham store is closing, they're getting rid of stock now,so I don't think it will be very long at all.

Does anyone happen to know if the Hayes store is closing? Want to check before I make a trip down.

My Daughter is one of 700 staff who will be losing their jobs. She's only 19 and many in her store are young or parents supporting children.
Luckily she has been offered a new job but not all have been as fortunate.
Smaller or stores within the M25 / London are set of close by September. Most large or expensive stock being transferred back to lakeside or Peterborough which will remain open .
Toys mostly in the sale and lots will be store specific. Keep visiting your local stores as sales added daily as they clear space.
Me ? I'm mourning the loss of the handy Morrisons staff discount card :,(

So Lakeside is staying open? Thats the only store I have been to but I always found it a great store, I would sooner it stayed and I missed out on these 15% closing down savings.

(_;) I was also wondering this: IS LAKESIDE CLOSING OR STAYING OPEN PLEASE? Does anyone know (_;) ??

We have been to Peterborough and Lakeside and love them both and was happy they were expanding all over the country but am very :( SAD :( that Morrissons has sold it to an equity company (who are allegidly keeping it as online business)
But Morrissons are keeping the stores/warehouses so will be charging (probably very high) Rent to them, so they will more than likely want to sell off as much stock and move out as quickly as possible.

Assuming they have given staff 1 months notice, this all happened back around 14th July so could close in the next 2 weeks - 2 months.

Are there any staff who work there that know ? Feel for all those who will lose their jobs.

This makes me so sad. My little boy is one of the models on their walls. I couldn't wait to take him in there when he is old enough to appreciate how special it is :(

Likewise Merry Hill! Was a Best Buy before it became a Kiddicare

Staff haven't even been given final dates.
All my Daughter got after 2 years working there , was a text by her line manager to say it's been sold then a letter in post with no date of intent but just warning of possible redundancies. Everyone on her store had a feeling and were already looking elsewhere for jobs.
There has been no set dates of notice given and staff expected to work until they are told that's that . They even took on temp new staff without telling them the stores are doomed, very sad for everyone.
We assumed Lakeside may stay open as all stock being sent there from surrounding stores , but now thinking maybe it's because that's a busier store and the others are closing quicker. Everyone knew only Peterborough was safe really .
Very sad for a lot of people who are losing their jobs with no real knowledge of when, but I know it's probably the last month now and most small ones will be gone by September and the buildings rented out . Already have people in looking at the fittings etc so very close to the end.

Any news on enfield closing?

Sad day, they are our go-to shop for child products, can't stand mothercare! Unfortunately they will be our main option in Nottingham now, but if Kiddicare are still available online at least that's something.

They are fantastic photos, he looks like a natural. Would love 1 of mine to do something like this.
Very SAD for Kiddiecare customers & Staff. They should have opened smaller stores.
