This was previously posted as a bargain in January @ £4.99, but now £2.97.
I've reserved a couple at my local store and they are still showing stock as well as other surrounding stores so stock levels look good.

Voted hot but REMEMBER:

Reserving at PC World means nothing. It just means if you go to store and pick it up and it goes through the till at the wrong price they can check online and bring the price down! I would get to your store and buy it before they sell out!

Great tip. As soon as I bought my ps2s from Asda yesterday, I did a search on the Comet web-site for this product, as I remember your first post. It came up with nothing. However, I think that I'll definitely be taking a look in over the weekend.

Cheers

My local Woolworths sells these, they are reduced to £2.99 from about £7 odd.

Hi everyone, this is my first post.

I work for PC world and yesterday they started the 3rd section of the games clearance. Added were that controller at £2.97, Catwoman at 97p, Eye toy camera and game (old one) at 97p, PS2 16 watt speakers and subwoofer 47p, RGB scart selector box gold plated 47p, mad catz ps2 controller and remote aka "starter pack" 47p, the getaway black monday 97p, a series of unforunate events fr PS2 and xbox 97, rogue agent 007 ps2 97p. Any of these items might be price tagged as more but will process at the till for 47p or 97p in any PC world store.

oh and sly 2 for PS2 is now 97p

Not knocking the deal but surely the £2.97 would be better spent put towards a new genuine Sony controller.

Totally agree - the quality of these third party controllers is usually awful - great deal if you are selling them on, but I wouldn't get one to use yourself. I was trying to do a 'stealth' mission on the Warriors the other day with one of these, and ended up chucking the controller in the bin, after my character succeeded in resembling my dad at a wedding disco for the umpteenth time - jumping all over the shop, like crazy legs crane.........

The only 3rd party brand I trust is Logitech - they have a controller for £4.99 to collect @ Comet (was £2.99 a for a while too) - http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=262463

I was going get one of these just now.

Is it not worth it then, i was going to use it for PC as i get sick of taking it out of the ps2 all the time.

Would this work even worse on the PC if it's that bad on the PS2.

Just come back from PCWORLD, Swansea, they had 10+ of the PS2 controller and DVD Remote starter packs, priced at 47p, they carry a 5yr guarantee so cant be that bad, not sure who would bother taking them back for 47p though. No sign of any of games mentioned.

£19.99 for official controller or 47p for third party, hmmm I wonder - This must be worth a seperate thread AnnaP!

They do 'work', as such - but I have found that the analogue sticks are completely unsubtle in their response - making accurate movements more or less impossible. This is just my personal opinion though, and for £2.99 (or 49p!) they may be worth a flutter....
#24
i wanted to buy 2 but they only had one left so i got it. looks good will write back to tell you how it is
#25
Got my controller in Fenchurch Street (London City) Lunchtime.

They must have 10-15 all marked as £9.99

Deep Joy !!!!

I just got 2 Madcatz 4 way SCART switches (Code 0000858454)for 47p each - they used to be priced at £19.99. That was the Milton Keynes PC World - none left now. May be worth trying Currys?
#27
I just got the 4way SCART and Sly 2 x 2

Anyone's PC world got 'The Getaway: Black Monday' or the Eyetoy bundle and want to do a trade for my Spare Sly 2?

Can the people that have posted they managed to purchase some of these reduced items can you post the SKU code for the items (it will be on your reciept)

That way people can try and local stock at their local pcworld/currys/dixons (although still hit and miss if they actually have physical stock most of the time its better than nothing :) )

Cheers

Reserving at PC World does indeed mean nothing!
The other day I reserved Xbox Live Gold 12 months subscription on the Call & Collect service as a quick gift and couldn't wait for delivery from elsewhere online.

I travelled 11 miles to my nearest PC World with my reservation code but when I got there they spent over half an hour faffing about before coming back to me with about 10 empty cases and saying `this is all we can find, it looks like someone's removed all the cards from the boxes so that the boxes can be displayed and now we can't find any cards to put inside them`.

I left empty handed after wasting about 40minutes waiting there and a 22 mile (50 minute) round trip.

Not at all impressed with them on that occasion :x
