Ok, I know the extra 1000 points for every £50+ spent instorte/online has been posted but I went instore to place my order and my items delivered to store for free (as I had paper gift vouchers therefore couldn't redeem online), I bought 3 toys (3 for 2 offer), it came to £60, and the lady said that you have earned 1800 points today, I said I thought it was 1000 and she replied there must be a points offer on boots.com also.
So got back 1800 - £18 - Better than the 1200 xmas events.

I cannot workout how the extra 800 points, as I've tried always but can't figure it out. Though I'm not complaining as I've had 3 for 2 on toys plus £18 back - bargain

Could you list the toys that you purchased? I'd be interested to know which ones you bought as I'm thinking of buying some from Boots in their bonus points offer. Extra points are always nice!

(And, thank you for sharing, heat added!)

how does the points system work?

how does the points system work?

How do you mean? If you mean 'generally' then you get points for your purchase on your Advantage Card - it used be 1 for every 25p, think it might have changed but that's irrelevant for this explanation - the points then equal the exact amount they are worth. ie 125 points is £1.25. They can be used to buy practically anything in store BUT you can only pay in full. You can't add to it. You just tell the person on the counter that you want to redeem your points to pay for an item and they remove the amount from your Advantage card.

Wondering if someone can help... i bought 2x £19 gift sets, and 1x £24 perfume but yet only get 1048points instead of 1248? - £10 points as advertised but still 200 short

It was explained in this thread:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/boots-1-000-1-200-bonus-advantage-p/781624/#post9630391

From what I can gather you get 1000points for the £50 and then 4 points per pound on top of that amount (after the £50).

ie. £50 is 1000 points, £51 is 1004 points.

Don't some toys have extra points? In store yesterday the woman in front of me was told if she spent another X amount in toys (or maybe it was on a certain toy) she would get another 8 pounds in points. I wasn't sure what the woman meant as I knew there was an offer on for 1000 points if you spend 50. I didn't pay too close attention though as the woman rushed back for more toys three times and I was there with a very heavy basket in hand, lol. I just assumed the SA meant 1000 points and was trying to get the woman up to a 50 quid total, but she did say 8 pounds so it must've been something else.

Edit: Just thought, the SA may have said she needed to spend another 8 quid, though it sure sounded like if she bought something else she'd *earn* another 8 quid.

Hi, i work for boots and i am certain that there are no extra points offers going on with the points.
(As far as i know) Im having a go at it my self. See if i can find out whats going on!

Disco you spent £62 in total which means £50 of this is for your 1000 points and the remaining £12 is multiplied by 4 hence the extra 48 points you have. There is only a 1000 point offer this weekend not 1200
#12
not a glitch, my sister works there, it is a special deal.
#13
i was told by boots staff that you only got the 1000 points this weekend and not any additional advantage points, will double check the reciept though..8)

Don't you get extra points for being in the Parenting Club so when you buy baby and kids stuff and use your card you get extra points as well? I know I get extra with nappies etc, maybe the toys are included too.

HELP! - after posting on here about my points, I seem to have mislaid my said receipt. Any chance Boots will cancel that points and re-issue me another? I was on the way to Boots when I realised I never had receipt

I put the same items in basket last night and didn't come up with 1800 points, maybe an error at the time I ordered then, I'm not complaining!
I am with parenting club but not aware of extra points for toys?
I'll take a pic of my receipt to show, maybe the ones working for boots can check

Lancom also does an offer of 2000 point reward. You need to buy at least 2 products with one of the product from the "Genifique" product line. and if you have spend over 50 pounds, you will get 2000 points (from lancome) + 1000 points (from boots) = 3000 points in total.

I have spent £107 pounds at boots and I recieved 11071 points that makes all my shopping free.
#21
what did you buy lol x
#22
Oh my god!! Must be an error with their system, because I still can't figure it out!
#23
If I spend 49.99 tomorrow how many points will I get does anyone know
#24
Hi dont just spend 49.99 you will get about 199 points buy some chewy if necessary to make it go over £50 another thing to consider is that on the 3 for 2 gifts you may find that some boots toys are far more expensive than other shops so you are not really getting 3 for 2. I know I was going to get the fisherprice talking teapot at boots it is £18 I paid £9.99 from pound stretcher (exactly the same) in T J Hughes it is £12.99 that was only on 1 toy. I have come across this before with boots toys so be careful because you think think you are getting a good deal when actually you are paying well over the odds. I am sure all boots toys are not the same but you never know.

how did u manage that tomitma please ? shouldnt u just of got 1000 points per £50 spend so £100 = 2000 points ??? or am i missing a glitch here ? xxx
#26
Your TOTAL points were 1800. ? Doing the sums:

£60 spend gives 240 points, so you got (1800-240 = ) 1560 extra points instead of 1000 points for spending over £50 ? Odd glitch

"I'll take a pic of my receipt to show, maybe the ones working for boots can check"
- would be very interesting to see.
