I just came back from the co-op and it was £10 for a 1.75kg duck there so this is really great value. Shame there is no asda near me.

Had one of these on Monday - 2.4 kg but not enough meat to feed 4 adults - very tasty but dissapointing because of the lack of meat.

Or a rainbow, or a kitten laugh, or a perfect sunset, or world peace.

They will see the inside of my tummy though!

Whip the breasts off (oo-er) and pan fry, score the skin and season well, skin side down in a cold pan (no oil needed) and bring the heat up to medium hot, this way the fat is rendered off, when crisp flip over, drain off the fat (keep for roasties) and cook the flesh side to what you like, should take 10 - 15 minutes max. Freeze the legs for a later date!

I probably should have done that instead!

Hopefully I can go and get a new oven from somewhere tomorrow and get that duck cooked :D

I bought a few of these yesterday but beware, the ducks are different weights but all the same price. The smallest ones are only 1.8KG and the largest ones (that I could find) are 2.4KG the different weights all have different price per KG marked on them! if it wasnt for the fact I managed to get 5 2.4KG ones (feeding 10 christmas day) I would have been quite annoyed! Never seen a shop have the same meat for sale at 7 different prices before and it seems a bit out of order to me.

this is a cracking deal.lucky that i didn't bought it last week with the full price~:)

My hubby managed to get 2 - a 2.4kg and a 2.2kg - but the 2.2 seems loads smaller - might get my scales out later to check! :D

It's the same as when I've seen frozen turkeys for sale, they fall into a few brackets of weight, so you would be paying more per kilo for the smallest in the bracket than if you find the top weight, but agreed it's odd to write it on the pack!
