Will these work with Belkin powerline adapters in the same network? I have some 200mbs ones already.

It's a alternative solution to wireless network. You plug one near the router and one near your PC and the network and internet data transfers through the power circuit in your house giving you a more stable and faster connection.

Most, if not all, network equipment is advertised misleadingly, as the packet layer speed is what is being advertised, i.e. 200 Mbps, and not the transport layer, which is the speed that is actually obtainable. In addition, if you only have 100 Mbps equipment, then that's the maximum speed you're going to be able to receive; these devices don't make your existing equipment faster.

Not a bad price. I know quite a few people who ordered these units at £49 and they have had little or no problems:thumbsup:

Any one on here who has these post a review - read the ones on ebuyer and one punter reports that they occupy the second mains socket when plugged into the first.....

According to post #4 the ebuyer product discussion they are:
    http://forums.ebuyer.com/showthread.php?t=46006

The chip used is the INT6300 and seems to be used on some belkin and solwise products too

Plus, the 200MBps is a sum of both the upload and download speed, so you won't be getting 200MBps download speed, maybe 100mbps up/down. Still, all powerline adapters calculate stuff that way, and this is much better than a wireless network, especially for gaming,

Hot from me, paid around £45 for a twin pack 85Mbps kit a couple of months ago. Nice find.

Will these work if you plug them into extension adapters/UPS with or without surge protector?

Anyone who's got these been able to stream HD through them? I got some 85 ones, when play had the offer on - but they're too slow for HD (even when plugged in next to each other on the same socket!)

UPS definitely not. Extension adaptors maybe, but you'll lose a bit of signal. Surge protectors are actually supposed to block the signals, but some people have got them to work through them.

Ideally they need to be plugged straight into their own mains socket, that's how to get the full speed.

And I totally agree with all the comments about advertised vs actual, but alot of PC gear is sold like that. For example, I can guarantee that no-one could get one terabyte of data on to a 1TB drive.
