I am so tempted by this as my daughter been asking for ages but i have read many reviews from people saying its a waste of money. Can anyone who has it already tell me what they think? Thanks in advance

This is a good deal just for the camera - cheapest i could find that was £21 on its own so eyepet etc is a bonus?
Eyepet typically goes for around £25 - heat added

Great, even if only for the camera.

Yeah, I bought this just for the camera, had a few games of EyePet for the trophy's, not got any kids myself, but I can imagine they will love it.

We bought one before Christmas as a present for my daughter for about £15. The quality of the camera is a joke and the eye pet interaction was poor. It was duly returned a few days later.

Voted cold for price and product.

My eight year old regularly still plays this title.

The problem with the technology is that the room you are playing within has to be very well lit; daytime playing ideal, but if playing in the evening then you will need a relatively large watt light or lights to ensure that the game performs as it should.

The soon-to-be available PlayStation Move technology is based upon the PLAYSTATION Eye camera following the illuminated bulbs on top of the controllers so these peripherals are better favoured to darker environments.

A new version of "EyePet" ("EyePet 2"!) will incorporate input by PlayStation Move controllers.

Back to this title:
I have seen it crash a few times & usually unplugging the USB cable of the camera from your PS3 & re-connecting clears the issues.

However, we have had some console-stopping crashes that have required a re-boot to get any life out of the console/controllers.

If you really need to buy this now, I'm sure your 4 year old will love it (and you'll love the challenge of getting the right environmental conditions for game-play).

It also can be quite frustrating whilst “training” your interaction with the on-screen character. If your 4 year old is easily annoyed then I would stay clear.

In any respect, my advice would be to wait for the next version if you can.

I paid almost double this amount at the release date, but this is a great price for both PLAYSTATION Eye camera & game title.

You can use the camera’s microphone in many PS3 games too… so buying this product & selling the PS3 game without it may be a worthwhile pursuit.

Good sound advice...

I brought this for my daughter for xmas just gone and I have to agree with a previous poster - its a complete waste of money. You do need a very well lit room to play but the reactions of the monkey are poor. It took us forever to get the pet to hatch at first, it took some practise.

In my opinion, I would save your money or put it towards something else x
