This cute little game lets you raise 3D virtual pets with the power of the PS3. Using PlayStation Eye, you can interact with your pet through gestures in realtime. Existing in Augmented Reality, your EyePet will be fully aware of people in the room and will interact with you and your friends in realtime -- it will even recognize items in your room and attempt to play with them! You can play with your EyePet (including tickling, playing chase games and teasing it to jump around,) customize its look and outfit, and even draw toys for it to play with!

EyePet Reacts to Every Move and Command -- Place an object in front of the camera and EyePet will interact with it. Tickle EyePet by waving your fingers in front of the camera and he will laugh. Poke him, and he will jump. Roll a ball and EyePet will chase after it.

Customize Your EyePet -- With over 250 unique collectibles you can customize your pet’s look by styling his fur, changing his clothes, and giving him new toys.

Graphics and Animation That Only the PS3 Can Deliver -- EyePet features Pixar-like fur technology and facial expressions. Watch EyePet change as he evolves over time.

Create and Share With Friends -- Draw new toys and watch EyePet interact with them as they spring to life on-screen.

Google for a few trailers. I love the one where you wash and blow dry the little fella. No interest at all in this but my kids are already bugging me for it...so I may have to succumb.
Heat added...I can cancel my Play order now.

Yes, I had the same - then I registered to be emailed 'when this product is available' and had a message this morning. If they cancel again I shall be kicking up a right royal stink, and I trust everyone else will too.

I even have the email in my inbox, with the pre-order price guarantee and the price displayed.

    The text reads:

    What's the magic card for?

Amazon don't usually honor their good pre order prices.

Its a Marketing Scam to get you onto the site.

Someone posts a good deal on here (conspiracy theorists may go as far as saying Amazon plants) it gets loads of cheap publicity / advertising and they cancel saying it was an accidental miss price (And they seem to make enough of them).

I think it is just a piece of black plastic, with a handle and a specific design, that the game recoginises and transforms into an object.

One of the cooler things to do in the game is to drop down the "magic card" on the floor. This simple black card will be detected by the Eye and a spinning holgraphic menu will shoot out of it. Players will be able to gesture Minority Report-style, around the menu to access various options, like toys and health check-ups.

Unless you're heartless, you'll want your pet to be happy and well-fed. You'll be able to transform the magic card into an X-ray machine and look at the insides of your friend. You'll see how happy he is, and how hungry he is. You can then transform the card into a food bowl, throwing food for the pet to catch.

Cheers Dan, one to keep the kids quiet. Looks like you can get £12 trade or £9 cash for the camera from CEX, if you already have one, so make's it slightly cheaper than getting the solus one.
