I got messed about with delivery last time I ordered at Gameplay so used GAME.

Don't even like scary games but managed to complete the first one so can't go wrong with this for that price.

Hot from me.

they did send me a preowned copy of golden axe, but denied it ,still waiting on a refund.
#9
Game are sending out ex display stock as well
#10
Mine is brand new from Game, sealed in cellophane.
Bought it a couple of weeks ago after a tip on here!
#11
Bought one from GAME, and it was pre-owned. I emailed them and they didn't bother to respond.
#12
That is the risk of buying online. Unsealed shoddy goods. Hit or miss. I don't buy online because of this. Ebay works better for some games. Least the ebayers sell as stated and have a reputiation to worry about, online retailers know another sucker will be along shortly to replace the one who just got shafted.

They did that to me, don't think they care. Would not touch them again. Killer if its for a gift.

I've had pre-owned games from...

Game
Gameplay
Gamestation
Shopto
Play

They were ALL stated as new on their websites.

I can add Zavvi to that list.
#17
And I can add HMV

There is lots of shoddy stock of this title doing the rounds - good deal if u don't mind it being unsealed and looking like a used copy. Not for me
#19
Gameplay have been the worst offenders for this (selling unsealed used stuff as new) - It is often stock which has been recalled from stores where it has sat in filing bags for months getting tatty, often the boxes even have stickers on. Asda sent me a copy of lego batman all scratched up with shop stickers still on!!

yep count me in, also had preowned, shop displayed, unsealed stock sent to me, box feels dirty of storage & handling wear, full of lines & scratches, discs sometimes have fingerprints on them, actually still got a game from Game to return to them (tried phoning them but 0844 number, & always seems to say "we're currently experiencing high volume of calls", and waits ages), not factory seal, probably shop displayed stock, sealed with Game's own purple seal, bought during Game's xmas sale along with 2 other games, the other 2 were brand new factory sealed but that 1 is resealed by Game themselves, don't like that at all.

list of offenders that quite often sends out used looking games:

Game (along with Gamestation & Gameplay are the same company, stock sent from the same warehouse, I guess because all 3 do preowned stuff they mix things & quite often send out used looking stuff)
HMV (usually happens when you buy cheap games from their sales, but from experience even if unsealed it's still in better condiiton than the Game group)
Zavvi/TheHut etc (TheHut group of companies, stock sent from the same warehouse, also sometimes send out unsealed used looking games when bought from their sales, condition wise some ok some not good)

from personal experience, Amazon, Play, Shopto, seems to be the more trustworthy online retailers in sending brand new factory sealed games.

£5, £6 or £7

Whatever you pay you are getting a bargain if you havent played this game before. Its not Half Life 2 but FEAR is an excellent series of games and I really enjoyed FEAR 2.

Fancy playin this game.....all links out of stock now ???????

Game now stating 2-3 days so I've ordered. I can't seem to find the first F.E.A.R online new - any one know wherer I can get it for less than £10?
#30
Well my copy arrived, and you were right it's pre-owned. So annoyed, that's just terrible customer service.

Anyway as I said almost as soon as I opened it I emailed the ******s and demanded what I ordered, a new copy.

Good luck getting a response....

Got my copy in the post today and the box is obviously second hand. Haven't opened it in case I decide to send it back, but unless they're paying the P&P, it's clearly not worth it. Really disappointed in them - this is just complete dishonesty.

I think your approach is absolutely right, SuPerNoVi. I'll be sending them an email and if I'm not happy with the reply, I'll be asking for an official complaints form. Sometimes just threatening that gets some results. Certainly doing nothing just encourages them to continue their dodgy practices.

If you look in the packaging there is actually returns label, as long as you get an RMA they pay postage :)

However you have to get an RMA first. That's the hard part.

If they don't sort this I wont use them again on principal.
#34
I got mine from Gameplay today and they looked pre ownned, boxes a bit shabby. The contents look new however.
They had the typical Game seal over the box that they put on in store.

I think these have probably come back from stores where they have that lovely habit of opening them all to put the box out on the shelf and keep the game, manual etc in a draw.

Not too upset as they were cheap but if they are advertised as new then that's what you should get!
#35
Still no reply from them, anyone else had any response?
#36
Scrap that got a reply today with an RMA number. Will return and hopefully get a new one, they did apologise.

Yep, sounds like the same email that I got today. I'll be returning as well and expecting a new copy. If I get another unsealed one, then I'll be returning it for a refund. Fingers crossed, let's see how it goes.
#38
I got a new and sealed copy yesterday
#39
Well the RMA they gave me began with an F followed by a number so I was thinking maybe the F was for FEAR and they've had a few complaints regarding this.

Well hopefully I'll get a new one, will keep you posted.
#40
Still haven't received a replacement copy. They're really taking their time.
