The supernatural gunplay of the F.E.A.R. series returns in this sequel to the chilling first-person shooter from Warner Bros.

The original F.E.A.R. is rightly considered one of the most frightening titles available on current formats. Mixing slow motion gun battles with a supernatural storyline and shocking gameplay moments created a truly unique shooter. Originally known simply as Project Origin, this sequel picks up where the original left off, giving players the same intense scares and satisfying gunplay the original is known for. The mysterious Alma makes a welcome return, her childlike appearance and slow movements inspired by horror films such as The Ring. Entering as a new team member, players must unravel the events that led to the destruction of a US city in the original title.

The sharp, original gun battles of F.E.A.R. also return, once again allows players to slow down time at the push of a button and take on multiple enemies at once. Enemies intelligence has been drastically improved, who will now use the more open environments to their advantage and fight aggressively in close-quarter battles.

F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin takes the scares and action that made the original so compelling, improving on its solid foundations and continuing its unsettling storyline.

Beginning shortly before the ending of F.E.A.R., a Special Forces squad is on a routine mission when the city of Auburn is rocked by a supernatural explosion. Alma, a girl with immense power and a thirst for revenge, has unleashed her wrath upon the city and thrown it into chaos.

Tension builds as the squad must combat enemy forces and the supernatural as they struggle to find a way to stop Alma and uncover the mysterious forces arrayed against them before its too late.

Ignore him mate, this guy has issues, and in particular takes extreme exception to this game for some bizarre - and almost laughable - reason!? It's embarassing.

Hot deal for a great game

Thanks. Good come-back on the other thread too.

I have seen similar posts before from other members who take a dislike to something then with their petty bickering boost the distribution of the product by making sure the deal listing stays high on the first page of discussed deals.

Amusing to say the least :)

I pre-ordered “F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin” & played it for a couple of weeks before the infinitely superior (in my opinion) "Killzone 2" was released a fortnight later. After enjoying (or wasting, depending on your point of view) 21 days & 11 hours of online game-play with "Killzone 2" I returned to "F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin" & still found it a great game.

You can either go through each level & treat it as a straight forward run'n'gun shooter, or tactically progress immersing yourself in the atmosphere not knowing what to expect next.

Definitely recommended playing late at night with just the glow of the TV picture to illuminate the room.

"F.E.A.R. 3" (of "F.3.A.R" as it will be called) has only just been announced to be in development... featuring none other than John Carpenter helping on the cinematic elements!

The official web site (remains):

The next title in the franchise is due in the third quarter of this year... hopefully giving me time to complete the current story I am playing through.

(I did not play the previous “First Encounter Assault Recon” title, but I don’t think it was imperative to do so. However, if I ever have the chance I will try it to see if I have missed anything important in the development of the characters)

I couldnt agree more....people get all defensive when someone tells them its going cheaper on fleebay and they deny its existance - then you have to go and proove it....and then they get even more touchy.......psychotic if you ask me.

Oh well eh
