This does not come with the steering wheel,if you want the game and wheel its £25.87 on the same site.
#2
Still great, I pre-ordered with Hut and paid £24 and change
#3
Thanks, got one with the wheel for Dads birthday :)
#4
does it have to be this steering wheel or will our Mario Kart ones suffice?
#5
Mario kart ones should be fine, only difference is the f1 look.
#6
It is out of date already! Especially considering the amount of changes to F1 next year. It is a pointless game.

Which rules change exactly cause there ain't that many (I know I was bored enough to read through the whole technical documentation for 2 hours)? God knows why they released this on the Wii but none the less good price so heat added.

And I was just about to ask if it has good gameplay, as I don't care about what it portrays or how real the graphics look. I used to like the SNES games with funny-a-like driver names.

Its OK but it does not "feel" right to me. Our 5yr old liked it but its a bit too sensitive (may be able to change in settings but as ours is a ahem.... trial version  so its too easy to chuck it to one side!). I would say that if you like driving games that are more fun and less technical or sim like you should be OK

This might be a good wheel since there isn't one included -

Anyone know what the wheel that is usually included is like? Anything special about it, or can you use the Mario Kart wheel just as well? (Sorry, not too knowledgeable about the Wii)

U dont NEED a wheel, at the end of the day its a piece of plastic designed to make it more of a "driving" experience. I personally prefer it with the wheel and I just use our mario kart one, its fine. Anyone wanting to "experience" F1 via a "proper" looking wheel is going to regret buying this anyway, as I said before, its no sim

Well i slightly disagree with this comment as the Wii version does support the Logitech wheel , granted a lot more expense for a game that probably has limited capability but you can get the experience via a proper wheel. :)

Thing is I think frakison meant that you the game doesn't feel like a proper SIM more arcade like so it don't really matter whether you use a wheel or not. Also the Logitech wheel above isn't like an F1 wheel as F1 wheels are bow tie shaped and only do a 180 revolution either way.

Granted it's not an F1 replica wheel shape but it looks and will feel better than holding something in fresh air hence a better and more realistic driving experience even if the game won't relay that sense accurately..

It's been reduced because the game is sh*t.

oh well I think you might have saved me a few squid with your frank & indepth review

I just had a look on youtube for some game play footage & i dont think the wii is cut out for this sort of game.

What an excellent review "NOT" Thats why everywhere else it's over £25 - £30. I'm sure people will make their minds up themselves or then again they can read you review...

Fair point on the wheel to be honest I have never been a fan of wheels on games consoles but whatever someone is happy with using is fine by me!! Also an interesting point whilst looking on the net the wheel that comes with this game is a free extra so who knows maybe this isn't solus as I don't see it saying that in the description, yes I know it is available with wheel on the website also but who knows!!
#23
H&R added - thanks for a great find. May not have fab reviews but had been looking to get it anyway for a Christmas present.

Exactly right TBG, it could come with a life sized replica of the Mclaren F1 car and it would still NOT be a "realistic" experience. That said, if you like arcade style driving games this is OK, certainly at this price point

So if this game is not the bees knees, which racing game on the Wii is?
I understand people rate Mario Kart quite high, but it just looks a bit too silly for my taste.

Oh, and what exactly is the difference between sim and arcade? I believe sim tries to be a realistic as possible, but what does arcade entail then?
#28
great game, its really fun in split screen too :)
#29
A SIM is a game where they research dynamics etc, an Arcade game is a game you traditionally find in arcades hence where the name come from and for most games they were fast paced not a very accurate representation of real life version of it but they are usually much more pick up and play fun where as SIMs usually have high learning curves.

TBH, the Wii does not have one other than Mario which is great for all ages but its annoying too as it suffers badly with "elastic band effect" whereby you can do a faultless race and still get wooped on the last lap by the player who was previously last!! :x.

I've tried countless others as our little lad love driving games, they are ALL crap, Hot Wheels, Monster Trucks and even Dirt2 are all really, REALLY bad!!! If you want a half decent one (other than Mario Kart) this is probably your best bet for now

Thanks. I just got Grid, which for some bizarre reason has a huge delay when turning and is therefore unusable and GTR Revolution, which is great  on PC along with a quite good steering wheel with pedals so I might just play on the PC for now. Shame no one can get their act together and release a decent racing game on the Wii. I had really high hopes for F1 and Dirt 2 but they both seem to be sub par.
#33
the game is better without useing the steering wheel by the way peeps
#34
bought. Poundland are selling a more "f1" type wheel than the Mario Kart one, for guess what.

Hi Folks,
Well this is my first post!

I have just gone and bought the formula 1 for my 2 boys and me from Tesco 17.99. Me being a right tight ****, yep hate parting with money really do hope the game is a winner. The last 1 i bought was the pdc dart game....not bad. Any pointers on the best set up for the new game. My 9 year old is very good with all the mario stuff but i wanted something else!
Thanks guys!

No real rule changes apart from no refuelling next year. But pretty much every driver is changing team, the addition of 4, possibly 5 new teams, the team that won the World Championship is now called something completely different.

It seems pointless to me to release a game which is instantly out of date. Fine if you are not bothered about that, but the gameplay and graphics are rubbish too.

Ok game, great price heat n rep added
