This was the precursor to Heavy Rain and you can't get it on Steam or anywhere else legitimately any more.

Definitely worth playing if you liked Heavy Rain or Beyond.

What's cool about it:
Exciting story with science-fiction and paranormal elements, well executed plot twists, and more than one main character.
Enchanting music, superb voice acting, and professionally directed cut scenes.
Unique, movie-like gameplay - almost everything you do just fuels the action and builds up suspense.
Overview:
In the men's room of a diner a mysterious murder takes place. The murderer is an ordinary man. He has no idea who his victim is. But this isn't an isolated incident. All over New York regular people are killing total strangers. The only link between the killings is that they all show the same ritual patterns.

Experience this gripping story as you play each of the four characters in this remarkable game. The murderer: Lucas Kane. The smouldering detective: Carla Valenti. The NYPD Agent: Tyler Miles. And the murderer's brother and priest: Markus Kane.

Discover the truth: Why are these victims being killed? What is making people engage in these murders? And who is the mastermind behind it all? This is a unique chance to run from the police and hide from yourself. Welcome to a new form of video game.

Fahrenheit is a second game made by Quantic Dream - studio responsible for masterpieces such as Omikron: The Nomad Soul and Heavy Rain. All their games were very well received by gamers and Fahrenheit is no exception. With superb story, groundbreaking gameplay, and Hollywood-level narration Fahrenheit (a.k.a. Indigo Propecy) has earned its place as one of the best action adventure games of all time.

Disclaimer: This is an uncut and uncensored version of Fahrenheit

It came out in the PS2/Xbox era so I'm not sure how well it would have aged visually but the game play was pretty much just Heavy Rain.

Great game. Same director (David Cage) behind Omikron: The Nomad Soul, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, so if you're a fan of any of them you'd likely enjoy this game.

it's aged well enough to not be insulting on the eyes, well worth a play through.

Taking the plunge on this...I hope it doesn't go free in the flash sales

This game is brilliant.

I bought a Playstation magazine with a demo disc which had this on, I played it twice and then headed straight round to the shop and bought it.

One of my favourite ever games. Think I played it straight through in one go - unheard of for me! Might have to buy this!

Great game this is. One of my all time favs along with Heavy Rain.

Beyond Two Souls was an absolute joke though, really poor game considering the amount of money they spent on it. It just didn't work.

I hated Heavy Rain but loved this - highly recommended for anyone on the fence. This one has a good story!

I'm surprised by the positive reviews on here, this was the most disappointing game I ever played. The game opens as a fantastic murder mystery noire where you play a murderer covering up his crime, only the for second act to have you playing the cops investigating the murder. Brilliant! But as you progress, the game degenerates quickly into 3rd rate cyberpunk trash. 30 minutes in I was ready to crown this as one of the greatest games I had ever played. By the end I couldn't believe what nonsense the plot had become. Intentionally or not, this game actively trolls the player.

For £1.76 it's worth it just to see the travesty unfold. The only game I've played that begins with a CGI video of the David Cage telling you how amazing the game is that you are about to play. What a pretentious tool.

I still have my original Xbox copy. I loved it but I seem to remember a certain stealth section during a flashback scene that was infuriating!!!

Have to agree with this, regardless of what metacritic says.

The main things I remember from this game are the utterly bizarro ending section where it went so far off being coherent I totally lost interest, and the bloody. Quick. Time. Events.

I loved this game but the final few sections really were poo story wise!
It's like they ran out of time or ideas to wrap up the story sensibly. .. Was a shame but I still loved it.
