Thanks Very much ive been waiting for this to drop for about 3 months now heated!!!

I ordered earlier today from Zavvi for £17.99 and it dispatched within 2hrs.

Very good. Not even including the one that extends the game beyond the finale, they add (what seems like) as much content as the basic game. I got this after already playing the vanilla a fair bit, just to play the add-ons, they kept me going longer than most games do.
Great game but has serious crashing and slow down issues on the ps3. Is very annoying indeed
Get the normal version and download the addons. This goty is unplayable, ps3 freezes all time and frames drop to 3-5 pretty often. With the normal and addons via dlc I had no problems at all.

Does anyone else bear this out? Loved playing the standard game and the GOTY edition seems a cheaper way of getting the DLC?. This price seems tempting (talking about PS3 edition).

I got this from Zavvi a few weeks ago for £3 more. It does freeze so you have to restart (no real damage if you save regularly) and gets stuttery on occasions but (for me anyway) hasn't stopped my enjoyment as it happens maybe once every 3 hours or so. Only game I've ever played a second time.

Well I've recently played the game with the latest update installed and for me it's been pretty bad. Crashing every half an hour at times. I think each add on costs £8 online so you would be looking at £40 for all 5 of them plus the need to buy the original game still. The goty addition is playable aslong as you save it regularly and have some patience
The DLC comes on a different disc for the 360 version. You could buy this version, along with a version of the normal game for £7.99 used in Game, install the dlc from the 2nd disc onto your HD then sell the GOTY version for around £18 on ebay, therefore spending about a tenner overall to get all the content (after ebay fees and postage).
Although the vanilla Fallout 3 game is about equal on both 360 and ps3 the goty version doesn't run well on the ps3 at times. A real shame as a fantastic game but its still playable but for some reason bethedsa don't seem bothered about debugging the ps3 version.

I wasn't that impressed with the mission where you go to the spaceship or the one that is meant to be set in a virtual world. Didn't find them as playable as the main game. They are alright. Generally though I've perhaps played about 200hrs on this game. Just keep coming back to it all the time.
Got this a couple of days ago on PS3. You must do regular saves as its always crashing.
Still a great game though.
Could anyone tell me what each add on does?

Take it is more missions. I have complete the original
Yeah basically 4 of them just add side missions onto it which you can do at anytime. And broken steel carries on from the main storyline. They do add new places where you can go though. In my opinion the only good one was point lookout, the rest are pretty poor
have a look around hmv still, i got my game of the year edition for 10.95 preowned
Are you lot saving this to your HDD? Surely that would stop alot of the crashing right?
Are you lot saving this to your HDD? Surely that would stop alot of the crashing right?

I don't think you can on PS3
Are the instability issues confined to the ps3 , how does the 360 version handle?
360 version now sold out
Any zavvi threads should be absolutely slaughtered, i'm still waiting for Fable II ordered 17th May
I haven't tried this yet, but the Fallout Wiki recommends turning off automatic saving. By default (I think) it saves every time you sleep, quick travel, or enter a loading screen. All of this saving increases the save file size and ends up messing things up. This would make sense, as the bigger your save file gets the less stable the game becomes.

As for vanilla vs GOTY, there's no difference whatsoever. It's just DLC included on the disc. No more, no less.

This is a fantastic price for a simply gigantic game. I've played 200+ hours of this game and I'm still not done, yet this can be as long or as short as you like.
I never noticed any issues with freezing, I remember reading somewhere though it was more iffy if you were playing a previous (ie vanilla) file having upgraded to GOTY, whereas I was just playing a brand new file (straight off of a GOTY disk).
