be warned this game locks up all the time, far more than the original and not just on the expansion areas.....

but its the only game I will tolerate this as its so so good. (but I have come close to disc snapping)

also that it's been posted before, plus cheaper at asda(£20) ;)

I'm thinking about getting it from asda but wanted to know if the save game from the standard version(well it was a game exclusive edition that comes with a figurine, tho the game is the standard edition as doesn't have any of the dlc) will work with the goty edition.

yes it does work - I have a save on the last mission of the original game, when loaded you get all the expansions come up on screen like normal quests being added.

Thats the problem with this game, there is no right or wrong answer. Personally on my last playthrough I did The Pitt early (1-2 story missions in), then after about level 9 I went and did Point Lookout. Before level 15 I had the story finished, did Broken Steel then was at around level 20. Now on level 28 I've done nearly every game trophy mission, including Anchorage and just need to do Mothership Zeta.

What I suggest is get Anchorage and the Pitt done early as you get the T51-B Winterised amour and a deathclaw gauntlet. Game is easy from then on :)

I honestly have not experienced any abnormal freezing that isn't inherent in a bethseda game. Played 25 hours + of it, did all the expansions and a few of the original side quests and have only have it freeze once. The original on xbox had just as many issues, especially when using the railway rifle. Think in 180 hours i had it freeze 8 or 9 times.

I would do the expansions first, well except broken steel as that requires completion of the main quest. The order you do the expansions in depends on what type of playthrough our having.

For melee i'd do the pitt first. For small guns i'd do point lookout, it has some high damage rifles. For energy weapons maybe something like Mothership Zeta. Although Operation anchorage is so short you may want to just do that and get some good stealth armour and a energy sniper rifle.

thanks for that little insight ;)
but there are 1000s of people who'll disagree with you(me included), but then again just as many who'd agree with you. all depends on what sort of games you like.

I'm close to 100hours through in the original and still not completed it, been ages since I've played it tho. been meaning to go back to it but been distracted by other games.
