Sweet!

Gonna pop down there when they open....about 10am I should think?

Hot :)

Yes yes, just get them to check the price if it's incorrectly priced !

I've been trying to find Fallout GOTY edition for £7.99 from Game or Gamestation but the only ones I can find at the price is the normal game pre-owned. Hopefully I may find the GOTY edition in my local Blockbusters.

None in Canterbury

:(

Hot Hot Hot.

:o hot
#7
None in Sunderland either, I'm guessing you got a mispriced one as the normal version is £7.95.
#8
GOTY will not be £7.99 and I can assure you of that. It has only been released fairly recently with most shops selling for £40 with the exception of ASDA which has a special offfer for £20
#9
None in baillieston,Glasgow

Checked with Game and Gamestation are they're still selling it for £12.99 !
#10
I'm pretty sure that game and gamestation aren't doing this for £7.99, I picked up the standard edition for that price but the GOTY was still £27.99 preowned. Seems very unlikely that a new, popular release would be down that low already...

Don't be so sure. The reason it's that price at Gamestation is because people are buying it, installing the DLC from the second disk and trading/returning it back so it loses it's value. Wouldn't be surprised if the same is happening at Blockbuster, hence the price reduction
#12
Bloody store deals, get my hopes up and always crash them down :P

lol... This is completely possible, far less feasible deals than this pop up all the time.

EDIT: Just spoke to Purley (who don't have any, grrrrr) and it's definitely £7.95 pre-owned. Availability will be the problem with this deal.
#14
I already got lucky with deal in gamestaion and make my luck even better they gave me new one because the pre-owned copy disk was missing.

so a brand new copy for £7.98 equals a bargain.
#15
Would love to get a copy of this, enjoying the game right now but im not going to pay the crazy DLC prices :(

Hope somewhere around here has it...
#16
Only the standard edition in the Bridgwater store and it's at the price stated by the OP

2000 MS points (or £15) isnt that bad for an extra 20 hours worth of gameplay tho :p

You know you can install the content off of the 2nd disc in the GOTY edition or from the DLC discs they released and then you don't need the disc to play them (this is the case with the 360 version at least). Perhaps you have a friend who might let you borrow it or you could rent it?
#19
I heard the GOTY version us full of glitches, is this true?

Just bought the regular version (ps3) for £9.99 brand new from currys.
#20
I got one at £7.95 approx this morning @ Blockbuster. It was for the PS3 and only came with one disc but it says game of the year edition on it and Game told me that the ps3 version is only one disk because its blue ray?
Anyway they couldn't find the box for it so gave me a standard fallout 3 box. I was going to say no but then I thought I might be cutting my nose off to spite my face. Hope I made the right decision.
What would you have done?:?

As far as i understand it, if you have bought and completed the standard edition and then upgrade to the GOTY edition then you will have a lot of bugs appear causing the game to crash regularly. If you haven't played fallout 3 before and you buy the goty edition then you should have minimal problems.
#22
Just popped in to my local Blockbusters and they had the original and NOT the GOTY edition for £7.95 preowned...

How does the GOTY content (the DLC packs) work on the 360 version?

Is it a second disk you put in when you want to play it? Do you install the content to HDD? Is it a code to download the content from Live?

You just install the DLC once in your hard drive and it works. Never need the cd again, just the normal disc.

The main difference between using the disc on the GOTY and buying it online from XBOX live is that the one from XBOX live only works with one profile, whilst the one from here works with any profile.

Hope this helps.

Yes it did. Thanks :)

Are you serious? If i buy the DLC from xbox live, only my gamer tag will be able to use it? No-one else on my xbox? That is a real D**K move by Microsoft. I have the disc version, but had i purchased it from XBL i would be really ****** off. :\

EDIT: I forgot to mention, i bought the disc version from gamestation well over a month ago, perhaps 2 for £14.99

Over 100h of gameplay so well worth it.

Yes I had some problems with some of my other profiles trying to use the DLC. THey do not connect to XBOX LIVE so not sure if that was the problem. But when I saw that I got **** up. :x

Either way I think you are better off with this version.
#28
I can confirm I was in Blockbuster last night and the GOTY was indeed £7.95 and I checked the price!
#29
I got a love/hate relationship with this game tbf(as the genre is not really my kinda thing), but after playing it quite a bit myself: IF you manage to get this game for £7.95(pre-owned or not) it would easily be one of the best video game bargains possible. Outrageously cheap.

It's simply a huge game, and that's before the load of expansion packs.
#30
Not that I talk to my potential purchases- but if I did, I think I'd say
'Hello Fallout 3, you're now at an outrageously attractive price. Don't talk back, just get in my shopping basket RIGHT NOW'

5 pieces of DLC content, 800 points each, 5*800 = 4000msp for all of it.

Even at cheap points prices you're looking at at least £30 to buy all the DLC separately, and then it's tied to one account, and you wont be able to lend it to friends, or pull it out of the cupboard in a few years, etc. etc. etc. :/

i could buy the entire GotY edition cheaper than that for new... either way im not looking to pay that much for a single player game, when there's so many good games i havent played yet available for £10 or under

My friends have got the standard version or have traded it away already, and any idea where i could rent the GotY edition? i was under the impression they didnt rent them out.

I'm not sure if anywhere does actually have it available for rent. All I know (from googling cause I don't actually have Fallout...yet) is that the content is installed and doesn't require the DLC disc.

Regarding the gameplay: I'm finding it extremely difficult!
For instance when I get my legs blown off I'm reduced to a snale pace crawl and because the world is so big it gets extremely boring. I 've run out of stym injections, I can't find a bed, I can't find water. Did the designers do this deliberatly so the game takes years to play?
I'm hoping it gets better as I increase my abilities but its painstaking at the moment. I'm also finding Just cause 2's size to also be its downfall but thats probably just my poor skill at video games.
Tips for Fallout 3 very welcome. Thankyou.:)

Maybe that's why people are putting 100s of hours into the game :p

Turn down the difficulty level? :/ lol

The snail pace usually only comes from being overloaded, if you look in your inventory there's a maximum amount of weight you can carry, though you can store stuff in your house when you get it (either at megaton or tenpenny tower, depending on choices you take during the main storyline)

When with both legs crippled you still move quite fast, also, sleeping in a bed restores your health/limbs without the need to use stims.

note about the game:
It's disappointing that at first the NPCs seem so bland, but dont get put off, but there's some awesome ones later on, and Moira in particularly gets much better. Some of the super mutant behemoth scenes are awesome too, like the one in the capitol building. Just fully completed it yesterday.

Just need to find a GotY disk now :(

Lovefilm seem to have the 2 DLC disks that they released. Not sure if they're available for rental or to buy though
