It should be. Just get them to scan it. In my store it has been so busy, we havent had time to do alot of price changes, so it could have been missed at your local.

You are probably right...........but the queue at my game was about 40-50 long! (not joking) so I didn't want to stand in it just for a price check!............I'll pop in tomorrow morning and hope they still have one left!
#14
I got someone to scan one when I was in my local at about 3pm yesterday afternoon. Scanned at £29.98. Are these definitely £19.98 now?
#15
The more these games are sold in Game, Gamestation etc at cut prices like this, I wonder what developers think.

Developers already hate the second hand games market because it denies them "extra" royalties, and a lot of people wait until they can pick up a game second hand rather than fork out £40 new, hence why developers are looking more into downloads and use once extra material with codes printed on game manuals, to further devalue a second hand market.

Now with this on top, the consumer will wait to see a game drop to half price within a month of release rather than buy on release day, all recent titles even if they have gone back up (like Banjo Kazooie) have been sold at half RRP over the past few months.

Really it should force the software houses to lessen the RRP to start with.

Agree with this to an extent. Street fighter 4 Special Edition is coming out next year, with a price tag of around £60 which has reminded me of the bad-ol-days when all console games were £60 (Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the SNES circa 1993).

I struggle to find a reason buy games at full price. With Asda/Tesco selling them at a discount on release at midnight, and Game/Play dropping the price a week after release Its worth waiting. Im still smarting for getting all excited and buying Guitar hero WT for £150 and using it once.

I almost always trade my games, and traded Fallout 3 on xmas eve for £14 at Game. Can see why I didnt get much for it now...

(PS Voted hot for the deal, but didn't like the game... and i love FPS/RPG...!)

Gona go in store tomorrow :)

thx heat and rep added

Good deal!

The game special edition is the normal game in a bigger box with a quite frankly rubbish figure included!
(I have the Game PC version) tbh the figure is that poor that i'd recommend going for the normal version so you have less to carry home!
#20
I wish this was an online deal as well. I'm hoping to get Fallout 3 after New Year so won't have time to visit local store right now but I bet if I did they'll would probably still have it for full price.

Come on GAME bring out some vouchers for the January Sales won't you!!!!
#21
PC version as well? I'm planning on getting the PC version and playing it on my TV with the 360 controller. Why? I missed out on a lot of mods etc. for Oblivion because i bought the 360 version :)
#22
cheers x x
#23
got mine today but mine wasnt the steel box :(

still, i picked up the game and the manager served me and said do you want the special edition for the same price lol. first he looked at me and i thought he realised i wasnt 18 lol xD still fool im only 15!!!!

Surely the developers get a set amount per sale, whether the shop makes £10 or £30 is up to them?
#25
New downloadable content is coming out in Jan for Xbox 360, although you have to pay for it, it's another reason to get a copy.

This is a fantastic game.

Also, I think it's very unlikely that the game publishers would get the same amount of revenue no matter what the shops sell it at. Shops only have so much room to play with.
#26
Awesome at this price
banned#27
Why has this deal got so hot, can anyone actually verify this given it was posted as a deal after the shops closed?
#28
cant find a store with any left near me (wigan), wot a surprise......... missed out again arrgghhhh :x
#29
The shop I was in this morning (mon) had a couple on display marked £19.99 - Cumbernauld if anyone is interested.
#30
I thought that it would work something like this.

- Game developers meet games company.
- Games company agrees to purchase 'x' amount of the game at a wholesale price (say £15) prior to game launch
- Games company sells 'x' amount of games at recommended retail price (£40)

If developers over produce they may offer bulk stock at a cheaper wholesale price to the games company who then pass this 'saving' onto customers (even though they are still making a profit).

If the game company purchases too many copies then they simply cut their prices and subsquently their profit margin in order to get rid of surplus stock.

In general you'll find that single player games go down in price quicker than multiplayer games as once a single player game like Fallout or Fable is complete there is nothing left to do except wait for DLC! Whereas mulitiplayer games like Halo, Gears of War, COD4/5 will keep their value as the additional multiplayer aspect in these games prolongs their worth.

£40 in the swindon store. cold
#32
£40 in newport
#33
Asked in lincoln £29.99, cold
#34
Just returned from Swansea store had to ask a member of staff to scan it as there was no price, it came up as £27.99 for the ordinary 360 version. PS3 version all marked up as £19.98. Bought my 360 copy from Argos for £24.14.

It seems Game shops are highly inconsistent with their offers which is pretty poor for such a big company :x and very frustrating when you have to travel miles to the store only to be disappointed when you get there
#35
This is definately a valid deal. I have just returned from a Swansea store with a PS3 copy for £19.98 !!! Hot !!!!

It may be a valid deal for the PS3 version but not for the 360 people should be aware of that before they waste their time traveling to the store.
#37
It was valid on the 360 in Great Yarmouth today, cept they had sold out, so OH told them to get their sign in then cos they had a big sign outside their door advertising it!
#38
Its been at 19.98 on the ps3 and 27.99 on the 360 and has been this price since xmas day
#39
Tin scanning as £30 for PS3 and 360 in Manchester stores.
#40
Bloke in game cardiff said the 360 version has not been £19.99 at all since release and the ps3 will only be £19.99 until friday:thumbsup:
