Cheapest I've seen it for and have heard its a very good game.

Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

Hi
Thanks for posting and welcome to HUKD. I have added an image to your post and a description of the product.
This is a link, made by rayman, which explains how to add images in great detail. It’s worth taking a look at if you are going to post more deals in future : - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/339941/how-to-post-and-host-images-for-thr/
Or follow the link in my signature.

Just a quick note for people who are interested in the DLC.

There is a Game of Year edition due for release on the 31st October 2009. Althought the game with DLC is at the moment £29.99 pre-order from Game.co.uk. The cost of the DLC included exceeds the £30 cost of the game itself.

If that's of interest to you then look into it.

Pah, I bought it for £5 from Asda, played it for 100 hours, sold it for £18 then preordered the GOTY edition for £30

Just about my favourite game ever. Seen the ps3 version preowned in game at £12.99 but it might be £14.99 now. Personally I think people should wait now for the GOTY version with all the extra content.

Is the extra contant actually that good then? I mean I'll probably struggle to find the time to play the main game through, never mind extra content.

To give you an analogy, I'd have been quite happy to have just seen the first Matrix movie. It was a great self-contained film and one of my all time faves. However, although I enjoyed the next two films, they were probably unecessary. Is the same true for the extra Fallout 3 content?
#15
You don't really need the DLC/extra content. You can have an amazing experience with just the main game that will still last you longer than most other titles.

That said, where both the 2nd and 3rd Matrix movies slightly took away from the 1st (imho), the DLC is hit and miss but can enhance your game. You're probably best getting Broken Steel to take the level cap to 30 and Point Lookout for the new missions.

But Mothership Zeta isn't meant to be that good, The Pitt is better but still not amazing and Operation: Anchorage is mainly combat which isn't Fallout 3's strongest point.

I wouldn't personally say it's worth waiting or paying the extra money for, the main game is still more incredible than all of the DLC combined but it depends on the kind of gamer you are. So, I'd use your judgement based on that.
#16
apologies for posting a silly question - but the DLC is just for the Xbox 360? I've got the PS3 version which I'm addicted to and would like extra content.
#17
DLC is just for 360 and PC at the moment but it's coming out for PS3 at the end of the year.

out of stock..

Each DLC (on the 360) adds extra gamer points and missions, but as already posted the main one to get is Broken Steel, as you can hit the standard game's level cap of 20 pretty quickly. (You can hit level 30 well before completing even half the quests in the main game if you do a lot of wandering, let alone the DLC missions!).
Also each DLC adds one or more items not found in the original game e.g. at the end of Operation Anchorage you get the chance to grab some stealth armour and a Gauss Rifle - a gun so awesome that it makes fighting all those Chinese worth it on its own! As these items are unique you need to make sure at least one trader has a 70+ repair skill as you can't maintain them very well yourself, however some items are so powerful that once you've played with them you feel a bit crippled on any playthrough where you haven't yet picked them up.
While I prefer Mass Effect for the story line, atmosphere and dialog implementation, Fallout 3 is a far larger game even without the DLC - I've spent over 300 hours building three characters and still haven't visited all of the locations or found all of the goodies - and that's just with playing 2 of the 5 DLCs (I'm saving the rest).
As pointed out though, the standard version of the game is only likely to get cheaper in the run up to the release of the GOTY edition that includes the 4000 MS points worth of DLC.
Oh, and I _hated_ RPGs before playing Mass Effect - I couldn't even get into Oblivion, and that's by the same studio - but 300 hours says a lot, and I'm looking forward to a few more hours tonight...
Summary: If there's even a chance you may like this game do youself a favour and give it a whirl - you too may become a post-apocalyptic Wasteland Wanderer just like me :D

I'm at a total loss! I posted a deal on this game at only £6 about 3 weeks ago and got loads of cold votes and comments against it being a good deal!?

Yet here it is nearly 3 times the cost of the deal I posted and it's voted hot?

It happens on here. I almost think deliberately.

Worth noting that Operation Anchorage, allows you to have the winterised T51b power armour with 10million hit points ... and gives you the required 'power armour training' at the same time too. It's the best DLC to complete early on, but it'll make you rather powerful from then on. I finished Anchorage at level 10, but it's apparently tricky at some lower levels.

But the gauss rifle in combination with the alien epoxy from Mothership Zeta ... awesome!

Thanks for all your comments troopers...
I have benefited from many a post on HotUkDeals, but this is the first post of mine that has seemed to have been well received!

If you have an Arcade version, it'd be wise if you got a hard disk too, as DLC is downloaded (unless GOTY edition), but still runs much more quietly and loads faster from the disk.

Some games seem to require the hard disk for saves, rather than the 256MB memory card.

I'm guessing that the 360 GOTY edition will probably still require the HDD and will simply install the DLC automatically like the Pit/Anchorage expansion and other games where DLC were later bundled with the main game. I could be wrong though.
