£23 here.
£24 at Amazon.

For the sake of having to register a new account, new card details etc, I'm going to stick with Amazon.

Should be great game though!

Ive got the game. It's not THAT great so far. Around an hour in.
#4
Yeah, because the first hour of an RPG is usually enough to decide how good or bad it is. Dolt.
#5
Or, given Obsidian's history - you can wait a little while and read a few reviews detailing how it is as broken as NWN2 and Alpha Protocol were on launch and then see the price tumble to sub £20 within a fortnight ...

You never know - they may actually get a game in a fit condition for launch - but given their history, I doubt it.

Just look at the broken state Alpha Protocol is in - even though patches have been promised, nothing has been delievered.

I'm going to wait and see what state it is in, and if they choose to patch it or not before buying.

Fair point but for me amazon always let me down on pre-orders unless i pay extra for the first class delivery :(. Gameplay send it free first class and my Medal of Honor came a day early so im happy with their service :D.

Macdory, very true they were broken a lot which i found out and felt ripped off tbh :P. However Fallout 3 was good so i doubt they could fail the second outing, or am i being way to positive? I bet i am haha!.

Eitherway good deal.

Amazon normally do bad for preorders :(

support pc gaming and buy the game.

As this is a steamworks game you shouldn't be able to play this yet if you have obtained the game legally as it doesn't unlock till friday.

It's coming out on Xbox 360 as well - so he could have acquired it legally if a retailer has messed up and sold it early.

Anyone seen any deals for the 360? Thebest I could find is shopto.net at 34.85 with free 1st class delivery. How are shopto with pre orders?

Basically this is the Fallout 3 engine so it should be impossible to ruin it as Fallout 3 was one of the finest rpg of all time.

Lets see, it will be a tradegy if they have spoiled this.
#12
I want the collectors edition but dont really fancy spending £70 for it :(
#13
Same engine and a lot of the assets from Fallout 3, think of this more as a total overhaul with new plot and NPCs and items. So, new locations, new stuff and new monsters all in a Fallout wrapper. Steam activation for PC, 19th for USA, 22nd for us in the UK. You could do what I did with Civ5 and use an anonimizer to make Steam think you are in the US if you are impatient, have a bit of knowhow and have pre-ordered through Steam or have the disk come the 19th. YMMV. For those wanting a guide (apparently it is massive) the Collector's edition of the guide is a good price through Amazon:

Will you be able to mod this with the GECK or does it have a new modding tool?

Man I had fun with the GECK in Fallout 3

FYI
COLLECTORS £49.99 here:
New Vegas

My understanding from following the pre-release promotional machine is that there should be mods supported for this as well. Not sure if it's a new modding tool or the same one updated.
#16
Thanks rob, will see anyway. took a while to get used to the GECK so hopefully it will be similar.

Oh and this will eat my life away again

Platinum on PS3 clocking 125+ hours
and going 100+ hours on the PC (Mods FTW)

I've ordered the collector's edition seeing as I got both collector's edition for the pc and ps3 (luchbox/bobblehead and the GAME Ex Statue)
I'm just a sucker for them oO

I'd never pre-order from Gameplay, I've had nothing but trouble preordering from them in the past!
#23
My pre-order status has updated to complete - shows dispatched today.
#24
No preorder bonus though got mine today very happy indeed + quidco £22.19
#25
Mine dispatched yesterday but hasn't arrived - this may be due to my being in Scotland and they are in Basingstoke. I had hoped for a pre-order bonus but it's easily fixed on the PC...

Sounds about right. Steam won't let you play until they think you can play - for the UK that's the 22nd, I don't have the exact time to hand. Console versions aren't/weren't limited this way but you can work around this in a couple of ways with a bit of knowhow.
#29
OMFG, so yeah been playing it for about 2 hours now. Already had problems starting it, and has crashed about 3 times already, locking up my computer with it AAARRGH!!
#30
I played for 6 hours this morning and didn't really have any problems. I'm on Win 7Pro 64, using a 5770 and 4GB memory with a I5 540core (really high settings). I've only had a Physix thing where a barrel suddenly flew off.

My wife has been playing as well, she's on the creaky old Windows XP machine, Pentium 4 single core, 3GB memory and a 7600GT (pretty low settings). She's only had a Powder Ganger's body disappear.

Neither of us have had a crash - lucky maybe? For the record, our games came in this morning's post.
